Student Loans Company

Hi All

I've just taken a look through my statements for the Student Loans Company and have discoverd that they've taken me for £150 in charges over the years. I'm I able to claim back from them or have they manged to manipulate the law in their favour again (like they did with bankruptcies)?

Are the loans pre-1998 or after?

Loans pre-1998 are subject to the Consumer Credit Act 1974, and I am in the process of trying to get the unlawful charges added to my accounts refunded.

There is no reason seen, as yet (?) that the SLC should be exempt from the OFT ruling.

At least pre-1998, they are just another financial institution.

Slightly off topic, but... the SLC aren't entirely like other financial institutions - they're not regulated by the FSA, which may explain why they appear to believe they can get away with murder.
