Default Cutting up my Vanquis card

Hello Everyone, i hope it is as simple as i think and if it is i'll feel really stupid for asking the question, here goes

At the begining of the year i got a full refund of my fees from vanquis however due to starting a lower paid job with less hrs i have found myself getting charges again, so i asked again for a refund and they said i can do
one of two things
1st, they can vary terms so i no long recive default fees to do this will vary my annual perchase rate to 54.9% and annual cash intrest rate to 59.% and i will incurr a £25. fee a year for this
or option 2 is keep things as they are,
The last time i paid them, only a pound came off my debt, can i just cut up the card and sent it back so atleast im paying off debt and not just the intrest they add every month ?

They will still add interest on the outstanding balance even if you cut the card up (although that is a good idea anyway). You should also carry on the proces to reclaim anycharges levied since the last claim. The fact that they already paid some back is not relevant - they maysayit was a gesture of goodwill but the fact of the matter is that the charges are unlawful. If they want to argue the toss, tell them you will see them in court. then they will pay up.
