| | Classic Account Customer | Fuming - Help Please Dear All,
I realie this isnt YB question, but I do not see a section for this institution, and as I already have a YB thread I thought I would post here.
I sent a cheque payable to a catalogue for the final balance of £25.30. for some reason it has not been cashed, but anyway they have now charged me £25, making my account now over £50. I phoned up and stated these were charges for missing a payment, I stated they were penalties and under common law they can not charge me this, they are already charging interest. She said that they were charges, but under my terms and conditions they were allowed to charge them. I stated no they were not and I was a member of the CAG and I kno wmy rights and I am having a similar issue with YB
She stated that they were not a bank and therefore could charge these penalties.
Can i chase them or am i flogging a dead horse, is she correct ?
Thanks
Stef
