Default Are any banks still settling? or waiting test case outcome?

Hi,

I have lost touch with what has been happening lately and was just wondering if any of the banks/building societies/credit card companies are still settling claims out of court?

I know some have applied to put claims on hold until the test case is decided in a few months, but have all done this? or are some still being reasonable?

Thanks

Anna

Most cases are being stayed at the moment. There are some still being won but these are mainly credit card and business claims.

With the test case only a few weeks away Judges are even more inclined to allow any applications for stays.

If you take a look through the **WON** threads they will show you how many wins lately.
There are still quite a few so ignore anyone telling you not to bother at the moment! Just don't raise your hopes.

Just noticed little remarks of 'whatever you do they won't pay out until after the court case' etc, which could make people think 'why bother'.

My understanding is that credit card claims are not affected by the test case but, when I filed some papers recently for my bro, a staff member explained that cases were being stayed. I said that credit cards were different but didn't push it as at the end of the day it might be her passing it to the judge.

I hope the judge will have a different opinion if not but if so hey ho the debt can't be enforced for some time. Shame that!

also I've had the odd £12 wiped off with one letter but that's nothing unusual.
