Default x ray & GP

Ten months ago had an x ray done on my hip which showed arthritis.

Six weeks ago saw GP because pain in the hip is getting unbearable.

GP says he suspects bursitis and injects hip

A week ago returned to GP because pain was bad. He says he has looked at my x ray and can't see anything wrong with the hip, so no treatment.

I asked him if he was giving me an opinion based on a 10 month old x ray and he said yes.

Told him there was nothing to discuss then and left.

Wrote letter complaining about what had happened and requested a second opinion.

Have received a letter from GP, no apology or explanation saying that I was to come to the surgery to get the referral letter that I had demanded and that perhaps it would be better if I moved to another surgery.

I am so angry I think its about time the public started removing doctors from surgeries for being useless not the doctors telling the public to move.

I will be responding to his letter, especially in view of one doctor in the practice telling me I have arthritis and another telling I don't, but don't know whether to take this up with the pct or gmc.

Speak to PALS - they should be listed at your local hospital.

PALS are really good.

They are handling my case about an operation which was recommended by my consultant in March 2007, which I still haven't had and which they now want me to have in Hull, when I look after my special needs son in Liverpool!

They are helpful and you can just tell them anything and they will investigate and get you some assistance/information.
