Exclamation NatWest won't accept less than 60% to settle. FACT or FICTION?

I called the DCA today handling one of my ex-NatWest accounts. I got a lump sum ready to pay off 50% of the balance owed as full and final settlement.

The DCA i'm dealing with is Moorcroft who turned round and said that NatWest will not accept less than 60% as full and final settlement.

The only way to get them (NatWest, not Moorcroft) to agree to an offer of less than 60% is if I send Moorcroft the following:

1. A full financial statement
2. A list of creditors I owe to/currently deal with
3. Tell them where the money is coming from to pay the lump sum

Is this true or a load of fibs?

Probably true ish - if you are making payments and they think you can pay up to 100% of the debt you need to demonstrate in the docs asked for why they should accept 50%?
