any advice, anyone? | As far as I am aware, they have every right to do this. If you owe money and you send them a payment, they do not have to abide by any terms and conditions attached to the payment, unless those terms are agreed beforehand.
Anyone making a "full and final settlement" offer needs to bear this in mind. Do not send the payment until you have it agreed.
Can't offer much advice on your underlying problem though. I would assume that the bank are less than sympathetic because they feel that you should sell the property and pay off the debt (assuming you are not in negative equity).
Remember buy-to-let is seen as a business to them and your "breathing space" is their profit margin. |

| | Classic Account Customer | Re: mortgage company rejects payment plan but cashes cheque!! As you have a buy to let mortgage, and all buy to let mortgages in the u.k are set on the following terms and conditions, the rent is bewteen 120% - 150% higher than the mortgage of the property, this is to make sure the monthly payments are met, you need to either get a tennant in, or sell the property, because the mortgage provider will sell the property as an on going concern, or sell well below market value, and chase you for the short fall, sorry to be a sour puss, but it is as is |
