I'm almost certain that this is not allowed - if it was everyone would be doing it.

When was your mortgage taken out? The fact that you have children should be reconsidered and taken into account .Talk to your mortgage company and find out what options are open to you.

No you would not be allowed as effectively you would be claiming benefit for 2 properties. Income Support will have it on record that you are waiting for mortgage interest to be paid and will inform HB if you claim.
My understanding of claiming benefit in these circumstances is that mortgage companies are meant to be sympathetic, and wait for the IS to kick in.

Have you informed the mortgage company of your situation, and who is the provider?

Hi all
The company is SMPL i have informed them of my situation they made me do an income and expenditiure on the the phone they wanted me to pay the full mortgage plus 50 off the arrears which i could not manage i get £57 income support and 73 ctc per week and 31.25 child benefit, i have sent a letter recorded delivery to the solicitors i have asked if i could have the mortgage changed to interest only or make a reduced mortgage payment as well as making a payment towards the arrears, plus i have explained that "potentially" the arrears would be cleared altoghether depending on the outcome at the tribuneral re my son's dla claim as my case worker says that he is entilited to middle/higher rate dla which i first claimed in January.........(thats another thread)
The solicitor gave me these options or put the house up for sale??? So where would we go sorry if the info is messy just abit stressed waitng to here back from the solitors

Don't worry over this - SPML, will just have to wait for their money. No court in this land will take away your home when it is clear that that the interest part of the mortgage will be paid, and the arrears will stabilise.

The person you spoke to is just reading from a script intended to collect as many arrears as possible. Stop talking to them as they will confuse you.

If you get any letters etc, let us know, in the meantime look after yourself, and your children.

You generally need the mortgage lenders consent to let your property, commonly known as a Buy to Let mortgage.

No it isn't possible to do without the lenders written consent.
