Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but I have 12 months left with fixed rate mortgage until... well it ends. What happens then if I want to stay with same company ie Barclays/Woolwich Am I right in believing I will be 'invited' back some months beforehand... will I need to get property resurveyed, solicitor costs etc etc? I don;t think I have (yet!) a default on any credit cards but I am way above with the 'borrowed' monies. Will they lok at that now as it was different 4 years ago and also credit has become a bad word now. Added to all above I stupidly used my 'reserve' so whilst my mortgage has gone down the total has stayed the same (some arrears somehow). I think the total value of property will be no more than 100% debt owed next yr which is pretty awful if I think of amount I paid for property 12 yrs ago (13 yrs remain) - kicks herself daily and thinks of joining nunnery. What if they do not want me?? Can they exclude me from 'deals'... what happens worst case - they do not want my account at all... mortgage nor 'reserve' aka another account I guess. I phoned up and asked a couple fo weeks ago and was told they would invite me 3 months prior.. didn;t want to get into itty gritty so wimped out .Anybody here got experiences? I think I would like to renew now (1 yr early) but wouldn;t be able to afford extra costs..... and maybe be refused also.... all that talk of interest rates going up soon, stagflation etc - makes me think I should get a new deal if at all possible now BUT owe them money as it is... (one month - bank's fault honest regarding dd)
