secured loan info required and hello

hi im a new user to this site. i have joined as i need some info.
but before i go into that hello everyone.
2 years ago me and my wife went for a secured loan from nemo
it was in joint names secured on the house we got the loan with no problems. however a year ago we split up (another story) but i continued to pay her the money (which she in turn spent) anyway to cut a long story short i was not on the mortgage and not on the deeds to the property and i have been told that i am not liable for the loan as they should not have given it to us (as i am not named on the property i didnt have the security) is this true
if so can anyone advise me on what to do

They may have made a mistake in lending you the money in terms of being able to recover it from a non-existant asset (in your name), but if you have signed the Loan Agreement, then you would be jointly liable for the amount borrowed.
