  1. Thanks, I'll send one off this week. Any pointers on what to say? I thought they ignored letters though and carried on sending out letters until you pay up? I'm guessing I should say I wasn't the driver, wont disclose the driver's name, etc.
  2. Last letter was from Zenith debt collection, I can't remember the amount though as it's gone up and down (not the first letter from Zenith) Sorry when I said escalated I was referring to what ericsbrother had already said in this post in the fact that if I moved away from the area, rented my flat out and they had a reply to sender letter back I'm concerned they could escalate the process and send a summons out knowing I wont get it or turn up to court.
  3. Great thanks. I think it's pretty much all there in the posts. Only thing I haven't mentioned is that the car park I parked in had a few other small firms there too so not sure if they're the landowners as well as the restaurant owner. The owner who advised I could park there is being a bit illusive at the moment so not sure I'll be able to find this information out.
  4. Thanks. Looks like I need to send another 23 posts befire I can send messages. Will get posting...
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. Who's the best person to speak to about how to proceed?
  6. Thanks for the reply on this. I didn't think about them getting one of their letters returned, this makes total sense. It's a tricky one, as I said in my first post it was a restaurant I went to and as I parked up behind the restaurant I checked with owner straight away and he said yes no problem you can park there. The problem is there were a few other firms that were situated behind the restaurant too and I don't know if certain spaces were allocated to certain firms (including the restaurant). The restaurant owner is being a bit illusive now so not sure if I'll be able to find out. I'm happy to write to UKPC and say I wasn't the driver and I haven't entered into a contract with them, etc but I just want these letters to stop as it does make me nervous that if I ever moved and they got returned letters they could actually go to court. What would your advice be if I can't get the restaurant owner to confirm he owns the land? I saw Watchdog last week and it sounds like they literally dismiss any appeals that you send over so think that might be a dead end. I'm half tempted to pay it and forget all about it.
  7. Had another letter recently saying the same old thing. So far have had letters from UKPC, Zenith and DR+ and after a year I have still not replied to any. I'm thinking of moving soon and will obviously register the vehicle to my new address with DVLA but concerned that letters from UKPC might not get through to me if this whole thing did get escalated. Are they likely to follow me to my new address via DVLA? Is the advice a year later to still ignore these letters? Really don't want to contact them and get on their records.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Is anyone able to tell me what the last letter is I should expect to see?
  9. Thanks for getting back so quickly.... Only got the DRP letter with me today so I'd have to check later but I have a feeling the 1st UKPC letter did come after 29 days. Offence date was 11/07/2014 Getting different advice from people, some say to ignore and some say to follow up. Really don't want to spend hours of my life on this and getting stressed about it. What would you suggest?
  10. Hi, I was asked by a friend who owns a restaurant to come by and have dinner and to park around the back. It was around 8pm on a Friday night and I parked up and noticed a few UKPC signs posted up. I went straight around to see if I could get a permit to display and he assured me he's worked there for years and I could just park there despite the signs. After meal I had a UKPC sticker attached to my windscreen - great..... To cut a long story short, I've had 3 UKPC letters asking for money which I have ignored and I got the first DRP+ letter yesterday saying the usual 'we will recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action.....'. I've read a number of forums and can see that you're generally recommended to ignore the letters as they wont pay out for court fees for peace of mind, can anyone let me know where this generally finishes please? Looks like I should expect a couple more letters where they drop the price 'in good faith' but after this should I expect anything else or will this just go away? Be nice to know what the last letter is that everyone gets so I can get an idea. The restaurant owner said he's going to get his solitor to write to DRP to drop this but sounds like they don't respond anyway. Is this a bad idea doing this? Thanks in advance! Robert
