  1. You can beat these people , I just have here is their letter of defeat... ..I was glad to be able to talk with you this afternoon in relation to your unresolved concerns regarding your npower energy account and once again please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you as I can assure you that this was not our intention. Mr xxxxxx, as it has been clarified that the closing debit balance of £99.11 has been calculated using estimated readings we have agreed to withdraw these charges and I can confirm that the account has now been closed with a zero balance. I appreciate that the level of service demonstrated to you in this instance has not been acceptable, and in order to resolve this matter amicably we have agreed to a further goodwill gesture of £150.00 which you will receive in the form of a cheque within the next 7 to 10 working days. I trust that this matter has now been resolved to your satisfaction, as agreed this case file has now been closed as resolved. Yours sincerely
  2. Hi all. I never had an offer from BC directly it was made through the FOS it reads. The offer Barclaycard has made to you is to refund all interest and charges applied to your account between November 2001 and July2005, as this was incorrectly applied to your account. This is a total refund of £2145.60. It has also offered to pay £250 compensation for the inconvenience caused to you in full and final settlement of this complaint. Having reviewed the the additional information you sent to me I can see no further interest was applied after July 2005. Therefore I feel the offer made is fair and reasonable. There was a settlement form from the FOS which I signed scanned and emailed back to them. The only contact I had with BC was to tell me that Cabot had been paid out and could I give them my account number and sort code to send me my £250
  3. Hi All ,thanks for all your input, yes the £6190 would have paid off Cabot.Ah well onwards and upwards eh.I hope other people now read this thread and treat it as a lesson how not to do it! Cheers Paul
  4. Hi All,not being too good with computers I don't know how to attach stuff to these posts, hence you not having the spreadsheet info. To cut a long story short the final total l on the spreadseet was £6190.BC offered £2415 plus £250 inconvenience payment. Being absolutely potless I decided to accept the lower offer. The offer was made through the FOS and no mention was made to the fact that Cabot would get the main bulk of the payment.I accepted the offer via the FOS and the only contact I have had with BC was afterwards when they wrote to tell me that they had paid CABOT. Also BC have told me what my balance with Cabot is after the payment from them has been deducted. How do these people share information, surely there must be something in the Data Protection Act to stop this.
  5. Me to,o but does anyone have any idea which way to go now
  6. Hi All,against my better judgement I decided to accept BC offer. They have paid £2415 to CABOT and offered me a £250 inconvenience payment surely this cannot be right. If anyone has any thoughts or feedback it would be truely appriciated
  7. Hi all ,a quick update I have filled in the spreadsheet and what Barclaycard have offered me is nowhere near this figure,so Ive rejected it.I'll keep you all posted when I get a response
  8. Sorry Brigadier do you mean the other way round.I have been made an offer by Barclaycard who were the original lender, but they sold the debt to Cabot
  9. Hi All ,a quick update .I have been made an offer from Barclaycard for interest and charges back to 2005,but I know that interest was being charged back to 2001.Do you think that this is worth pursuing. Also could anyone tell me if the settlement would be paid to me or to Cabot Thanks Paul
  10. Thanks all for your replies.I think I need to go after BC first, then deal with CABOT.Has anyone got any ideas on how to go about this or are there any template letters which I could adapt to get the ball rolling Thanks Paul
  11. Hi all ,the debt has only recently been transfered to CABOT .I have a SAR from barclaycard and the dates from 2004 refer to barclaycard not Cabot.I have done the credit report on Noodle and to my amazement it is 5/5 Thanks Paul
  12. Hi All, long time reader first time poster. I hope someone can help. I received my SAR info from Barclaycard and have found that since my reduced payment plan started in 2004 interest was added for the first 11 months. Then the interest stopped and the balance was reduced for the next 21 months. Then the balance reduced to zero(which was not actually the case) and I carried on paying the monthly payments for 65 months, but this has never shown on their records. The debt was then sold to CABOT who I now make regular payments to .I have not missed a single monthly payment from the start and it seems I now owe more than I did in the first place . Could someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks Paul
