  1. I have been with Pay PLan for three years and it is the best thing I have ever done. The relief of the phone calls and letters was worth it. I am now coming into a position of being able to offer full and final settlements and Pay Plan are helping with this. An IVA sticks (as does a bad credit rating for sure) but I feel better and have been able to rebuild my life and above all my confidence!
  2. Can anyone offer advice? My brother law is in a spinal injuries unit following an accident two months ago. He asked me to persue chasing bank charges from several banks he has had dealings with. At the same time he is close to completeing an agreement with PayPlna to pay off his outstanding debts to the banks. Would it be unreasonable to attack the banks who are 'helping' him by letting him pay his debts this way (even if they put him there in the first place). They could thennaturally withdraw from the Pay PLan agreement and he would risk losing his house and anything else he has left? It's a dilema and am not sure how to proceed or even if it is the right thing to do right now? Any words of advice would be really helpful.
  3. Am very nervous, but have read and reread the FAQ's, written up my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) and the cheque and it is about to go in the post. Gosh!!!! Wish me luck and thank you to all the other postings, it's heartening to know others are scared too. 7/11/06 SAR sent - HSBC
  4. In 1998 I took out a personal loan with Marks and Spencers to buy a car. All went well until my business ran into trouble. With careful debt management I am repaying all my creditors (though I realise this will take until 2017) Now, 8 years after taking out the loan with M & S I am still paying it off and the balance is still more than I borrowed inthe first place, despite the three years I made the full payments. Does anyone think I should take this up with M & S. Surely this is unfair and above all not legal???? I wouldn't know where to begin but would give it a go. Any advice appreciated.
  5. Am going to visit him in hospital today and get all the relevant bank details...so watch this space. Thanks
  6. Have just found this marvellous site, on behalf of my brother in law. He had a serious, serious accident earlier this year and is now paralysed. He has asked me and my husband to look at reclaiming his excessive bank charges which mount up daily despite the bank having been informed of his accident and request for patience while his financial affairs are sorted. They have shown no sympathy, just keep piling it on. It is a relief to see the practical advice here, so away we go... Thanks
