  1. SECURED- they were further advances on other properties
  2. Can anybody suggest where we turn for help with Blemain. We took out 4 loans with them through a broker. The repayments became extortionate beyond belief and we sold one of the properties. They charged us £3000 just to provide a settlement figure to our solicitor. They've charged us for insurance when we have our own and they stick masses of fees on the remaining accounts every month. They are crippling us and we need to get out but thanks to them we have terrible credit record so cant remortgage with anyone else. They refuse to provide us with statements and I cant see any light at the end of the tunnel. Desparately need some help, can anyone recommend somebody? Needless to say we dont have loads of spare cash around to stump up front either but happy to let anyone who can help us have what they can recover from these sharks. They are an awful company to deal with and to be quite honest i just feel like topping myself to get put of the mess we are in. I've read loads of posts on here about them but I dont know where to start to sort our problems out, its a minefield and I could do with some help. We currently own 1 property that they have mortgaged entriely and we have further advance loans with them on 2 other properties. Just the mortage repayments for the 1 property are far higher than the income we generate from the others. Who on earth can I turn to for help??

  4. I seem to remember reading somewhere in the past about a letter that could be sent to all the financial organisations that someone was dealing with asking them not to share your information with anyone else (likewise if the box had been ticked on the original paperwork asking not to pass on info) and so under data protection regulations this meant that the organisations couldn't tell the credit reference agencies anything either and if they already had you could ask for it to be removed. Does anybody know anything about this and is there a link tothe relevant information anywhere please. Many thanks
  5. Thanks for the advice Els, I will start the process then. Yes i do have other accounts but would prefer not to lose this one simply because where i live they are the only bank around and if i had to rely on another it would mean travelling and as i pay in quite regularly i don't really want the added hassle
  6. Does anybody know how LLoyds TSB are dealing with new claims right now - trying to figure out if it would be wise for me to start a new claim at the moment or to wait. I did a claim with another bank early in the year and got an offer back really quickly but when i tried it with a second bank in the summer i had letter back saying they would apply to court for an order to stay my action until resolution of the banks proccedings with the OFT and so at the moment i haven't done anything else with that one, not really sure how best to proceed with LLoyds TSB now then. I have all my statements so can easily work out the charges applied to date becasue the account is less than two years old but would a claim at this stage be detrimental to relationship with them - ie are they likely to call in the overdraft or close the account
  7. Just looking for some advice on what to do with a Halifax claim that was originally submitted in June - I got all the charges info back from them etc and sent off the first letter requesting refund of charges and received a response from them saying they were waiting for the results of a test case and any court claim would be met with an application for an order to stay my action until resolution of the banks proceedings with the OFT. So since then I hae done nothing - does anyone know whether this case has been resolved and should i continue my claim or start it again or leave it a while longer?
  8. Hi, I have ended up here because i am searching for the template letter to send asking for the CCA - my husband has just had a first letter from Wescott regarding a RBS credit card debt andiwant to get it sorted out. Di find a link in another thread but it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me where the template letter is please? Many thanks
  9. I had a personal loan from HSBC with payment protection insurance via Norwich Union. I was made redundant from my job over a year ago now and continued to make my loan payments. I don't want another job nor am i claiming any benefits as my husband has his own business and it suits us better for me to stay home and do his paperwork etc, however i realised i had the PPI on my loan so thought i might as well use it for a while, after all i have paid for it and was made redundant but they are refusing to pay out as i am not claiming benefits/registered with emploment service/actively looking for another job. Do i have a leg to stand on? Can i force them to pay out or reasonably expect my premiums refunded? It does say in the policy about looking for another job but that came after i had signed the loan agreement and ticked the payment protection box and in anycase at that time i probably thought i would want another job, circumstances change. What would anyone advise i do please?
