  1. Hi A friend of mine recently moved to a new job after handing in his notice and when he got his final pay packet he was only paid £100. His manager said it was due to hours that he owed the company. My friend was given no warning beforehand so he couldn’t make the hours up in his final month; he was also sent a letter outlining a bonus payment of £1400 that would be paid with his final salary he never received this either. My friend questioned this with his ex-manager and was told he didn’t have to pay the bonus as he is no longer with the company. Just wondering where my friend stands on this? Thanks
  2. im dealing with them at the moment, what a bunch.
  3. If they take you to court I’m pretty sure they are going to need a properly executed agreement with signatures on them.
  4. Strange! i was sent another welcome letter this morning by Cabot, the same letter they sent me in 2008 with all the usual we have recently bought the account you held with egg blah blah blah. so did they buy it in 2008 or last week
  5. Nasty question but what happens if you lose a court case, do you have to pay the money back in one go or is a payment plan set up by the court?
  6. martel is it Cabot who are taking you to court or another DCA? let me know how you get on. good luck.
  7. Is it worth sending a SAR to the original creditor to see what information they have on the account? Should the SAR include any information regarding them selling the debt to Cabot or is that info between EGG and Cabot only?
  8. The default is on my credit file though as I was with Experian for a while.
  9. I think I must have received a default notice from EGG though I don’t have the letter still, but I defiantly did not receive any letter from Cabot about a default notice. I still have all the letters that I have received from Cabot.
  10. Before Cabot bought the debt it was with several DCA's who could not provide an agreement. When it was still with egg there was always a default notice from Egg on my credit file but when Cabot bought the debt it was changed to their name. I can’t remember for sure if egg sent me a pay up notice but I’m pretty sure they must have done. I will send a letter to them soon like you said. buzzman- well done for spotting the vertical/horisontal thing I didn’t see that and probably never would have Thanks for the help I appreciate it
  11. Hi jamtasic i im in the same position as you are, no CCA for ages then all of a sudden they pluck out an enforceable Agreement. i will keep an eye on your thread to see what the best options are. i started a thread of my own this morning some of which might be relevant to you, here is the link. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/262023-cabot-help-needed-please.html
