  5. i sent off a prelim approach letter (date below) and had a response saying no chance but heres £20 back as a goodwill gesture. thing is i should have sent the 2nd stage letter a week or so back but have been that busy i havent got round to it yet (was gonna do it today). can i carry on with it even tho is gone past 14 days or do i need to start the process over again? sorry, hope i make sense! hippy. xxxx Merged threads, please keep to the same one.
  6. have completed survey now thank you again!! wrt to default i need to check if there is one or two on my file as i am pretty certain one is valid due to missed loan repayments.if they have defaulted me for anything else i will contest that..thanks, hippy. xxxx Merged threads, please keep to the same one.
  7. had a letter yesterday morning from natwest! I have a debt with a debt collection company which was made up of a small amount of personal loan i had remaining and about £400 of bank charges. I was advised on here i could claim back. THANKYOU FOR THAT ADVICE!! got what i assume to be a standard letter back, telling me charges are transparent and OFT are in talks with them wrt credit card charges and they beleive their charges are fair etc etc. then goes on to say that as an exeptional case they have decided to close all my accounts and not seek any further monies from me! That means they have not only refunded my charges but 'let me off' what would have been remaining of the debt, after the refund!! very happy as you can imagine, and thankyou to the advice on here! now do i write back and thank them or just leave it now? thanks again guys, just abbey to go now!! hippy.xxxx
  8. oooo a small update, ive just checked my account (in the hope i had a couple of quid for loo roll!) and have just found 20 quid for a 'misc fee refund' made into my acct yesterday (bit confused as was a bank hol?!?). am wondering if this is anything to do with my req letter. fingers crossed its a sign of things to come! xxxx
  9. got a response from the prelim approach letter this AM. i assume its just a delaying tactic (was surprised i got responses from 2 diff banks this morn actually lol, both more or less the exact same letter!).anyway basically says thanks for your letter we will look into it and write to me to either send a definitive response or to update me on progress within 10 working days. i assume that if i dont have a full refund from them by the 14 days I GAVE then i issue next letter and follow the step by steps until a refund is issued regardless of these nice standard letters they send?do i need to advise them that my timescales still stand?hope this makes sense, I am assuming i ignore their responses and follow the instructions until such a point they give me back my money?taking no notice of these letters they are sending to try and stall?..thanks! hippy. xxxx
  10. sent prelim approach letter as on sig below, recieved a letter from abbey this morning, standard letter just saying sorry im unhappy and that theyve passed it to a colleague who will investigate the complaint. They say they will write to me within the next 4 weeks to let me know whats happening! soooooo, i am assuming that regardless of this letter, i continue as per the step by step instructions-eg they still have the timescale ive given them and so i should issue the 2nd letter on appropriate date and then persue action if required? do i need to tell them their response is of no relevance or just continue?-this is a delaying tactic by them i assume? sorry for all the questions, i expect ive not explained what i mean very well either! sorry, basically do i continue as per instructions uless i get full refund? thanx! xxxx
  11. just wanted to add another addy, Ive just issued my prelim approach to this address: Natwest Credit Management Services 1-3 Kendal court Ironmasters way Telford TF3 4DT I got the address off the woman i spoke to on the phone on friday when enquiring about charges.. xxxx
  12. thankyou very much, letter done and will be issued this arvo. Thankyou for all the advice! Another one to add to the list!! xxxx
  13. onelast thing, just wanted to check, i have amended the letter to what i think is ok, in the template there is a paragraph which says **Additionally it has now been confirmed that your particularly high level of penalties are considered to be unfair per se by the OFT who reported on the 5th April 2006 and are therefore presumed to be unlawful in the absence of specific proof to the contrary.** does/will this relate to a phone company aswell as the banks?just need to know do i need to remove this? sorry to be thick.. tiaxxxx
  14. Thankyou!! *sighs with relief*, another one to add to the list then.. so wud i just go through the same process as with the bank but change the template letter slightly? I assume it would be a very basic version of the prelimary approach letter..I am assuming it is the same law/regs that this kind of unfair chargeing comes under even tho it is a mobile company and not a bank?? thankyou. x
  15. Wasnt sure where to ask this, have just got off the phone to T-Mobile who inform me that they have barred calls on my phone due to last months bill not going out-they havent bothered to bl**dy let me know till now, and only did that by barrinjg calls and diverting an attemptd call to their operater. It seems the bill went out the day my bank levvied £110 of charges on my account, therefore the only reason bill bounced was the bank. ANyway, aswell as my bank charging me for bouncing the dd (have written and asked for refund it as part of my action-preliminary letter issued on fri) T-Mobile tell me they are charging me £23.50 for the dd bouncing?!!!!! Apparently this is in my contract-my monthly bill is only £15 fgs.. Is this allowed, it seems pretty excessive to me, and had i known they would charge for bounced dd i wudnt have signed up for the sodding contract-this has never been made clear at any point to me..any comments gratefully recieved. Off to try and calm down-i am SICK to death of every bl**dy company in the country charging for any excuse they can extortionate amounts of money.. tia hippy.. (scuttling off to try and calm herself).xxxx
