  1. *I* think it's straightforward too. As I said to the last DVLA drone I spoke to "Who else but me would be able to tell you my date of birth, national insurance number, then list all the homes I've lived in (lots) plus all the changes of name in sequence? Apparently "compootah says no"
  2. Default Re: DVLA Lost details DVLA are still at it. My licence has been lost in one of the moves and I've had many. I had a couple of name changes after getting married, once overseas. when I ask the DVLA, apparently unless I can provide them with my 4 marriage certificates and 4 divorce certificates , plus dates of marriage and divorces, plus all the addresses I have lived (those I can provide in date order) and when I lived at them, they won't issue me with a replacement. I sent them reams of paperwork, plus photos, birth certificates and the like after spending a fortune on copies and writing to Canada for one lot, they simply ignored it and deny all knowledge of ever getting it. It seems they just don't *want* to issue a replacement. So what am I supposed to do now? Take my test again?
  3. and here we are 9 years later and the DVLA are still at it. My licence has been lost in one of the moves and I've had many. I had a couple of name changes after getting married, once overseas. 4. Interesting that you say Corbyn is uncaring. What makes you say this?
  5. What do people expect. There's no magic money tree for the NHS, schools, social care, school meals or anything else. Oh wait, they found it in time to bribe a political party with links to terrorist organisations, to support them and keep them in power, despite warnings that this will endanger the Good Friday agreement. Nothing matters, nobody matters where the plutocrats are concerned. Fit sprinklers in luxury apartments, penny pinch don't fit sprinklers, put inflammable cladding on social housing because it's only poor people who die.
  6. surely the head restraints would prevent this, unless, they have a dog as large as mine (47kg) in which case, even a strong chain might break if he came forward at speed. probably because they have seen that more money can be made out of shady dealings.Comes from living in a plutocracy instead of a democracy.
  7. no, bad advice 20 years ago did that. Sadly the mortgage adviser got struck off because of the problems he caused dozens of local people like me.He told people to have endowments not on the basis that they will perform well but on the basis of how much commission he got.
  8. error? What if I've had 2 valuations done on y home for remortgage purposes and had nothing but problems and outright lies? Lies are not errors. There is no real means of complaint because you just poo poo it and stand by the dishonest surveyors you employ. Frankly after Googling for Esurv problems, I'm surprised anyone lets you lot through the door. You have a terrible reputation and you just don't care. Well you won't care about me but let me tell you, because of your lies, I can't get a lifetime mortgage, and because I can't,I will have my home repossessed as I can't pay the capital sum off the mortgage next year.
  9. just had a valuation done by Esurv and, just like the last time 3 years ago, they have lied and lied. This company desperately needs to be sorted out.
  10. But what if you don't own a telly and don't watch BBC on catchup? I haven't owned a telly for years
  11. so why not ask the vet to price match and if he won't ask him for a prescription and buy them online for 5p.
  12. oh, so Imagined the bit about the friend buying a plec for a small tank, setting it up for 3 days etc? And you missed the bit about contacting the council in my reply? My best friend is the AWO of my local council whcih is why I mentioned it. The RSPCA have no right of entry to a pet shop and can do nothing if the owner refuses them entry. I am now wondering why you responded to every post I made, being critical and apparently taking issue with the fact that I am trying to be fair and reasonable and state facts, since I know about things like this. Apparently I'd be better agreeing with every OP, issue soothing words and agreeing to whatever is said even if it's wrong? I think I've made a big mistake here and joined another forum where people only want to hear they are right, even when they might not be, and having the temerity to think that unless I hear both sides of a story and have actual facts, I cannot slag someone off.Silly me. I should know better than to believe that people can be expected to be fair and reasonable.I had hoped that with my experience and background, I might have been able to offer some advice, but I see now that experience is worth nothing if I don't tell people what they want to hear. I shall remove myself forthwith and not sully this forum with any further posts. My mantra has always been 'compassion, not sentiment', but I guess that's old fashioned. Nowadays sentiment is always preferred.
  13. I wasn't aware that I was. I thought I stated that we only have one side of the story and that I didn't think it was fair to villify the breeder when we have not heard her side of the story. I have this odd notion that I try to treat people fairly and expect them to do the same. However, I have found on different internet forums that fairness is a rare thing indeed and people are very quick to hang, draw and quarter someone without getting all the facts. That's not fair, that's hysteria and mob rule.
  14. I have nothing but the utmost respect for my vet. I followed him from a previous practice, watched him start from scratch in a new premises, buy the expensive eqiupment needed, such as lab equipment, xray machine and all the stuff needed for operations. I saw him grow haggard in the first year as his debts must have amounted to tens of thousands. He had a few clients from the previous place but he needed more clients in order to pay off his debts. He couldn't even afford to pay a 2nd vet to help ease his work load. Yet if I went with a rescue animal, he refused to charge aconsult' fee. He will price match on POM whenever he can and has treated animals for free. I recommended him to many many people and now, he is thriving, has other vets and the place is buzzing. Sure it hurts if I have to have an animal treated which costs me £400, but because he knows my dedication to the animals in my care and knows that I never have much money, he tells me to pay him as an when I can. I won't hear a bad thing said against him. He earns every penny he gets. This paragon of vet care is David Feldmar at Terrington Veterinary Centre. Over the decades I have had lots of vets (I am an old lady and run a rescue centre) but Dave is one of 3 who I reckon should be given a Sainthood. He is a true animal lover. His staff are lovely and friendly, the premises are an old health centre. I don't know of any other vet who has different rooms for cats and dogs to recover in so that the cats don't get stressed by being near to strange dogs. He won't recommend any unecessary treatment, and will always offer different treatment options, explain them fully and suggest to take the cheaper one first if it isn't life threatening. Like my massive RottieX GSD who started limping badly on a front leg. I was offered painkillers, anti inflammatories and rest as a first option, or could go with an Xray @ £300. I decided to go the Xray route right away. As it was, nothing was found and the painkillers/ anti imflammatories/rest worked fine. I don't begrudge the money for the Xray because at least I know 100% that nothing was badly wrong. If anyone lives within driving distance of this surgery in Norfolk, just outside Kings Lynn, then I would say go to this surgery. He now is very very busy, after only a couple of years setting up, and the majority of his clients are recommendations from people like me, his other old clients and people who went along just to see what the place was like. I'm not related to him and I don't get paid to say how great he is. In fact he'd be very embarrassed if he knew what I'd written. When he sold his partnership in the previous place, I told him that if he opened up within 50 miles of where I live, I would still be a client of his. To all pet owners, shop around, ask the vet to price match, ask him if the prescription can be bought over the counter (Dave will volunteer the info without me asking), phone vets up and ask them what their consult fee is, what it costs for a neuter or whatever else, and, if you have a lot of animals, and end up going to the vet often, ask for a discount. I get a small discount because I'm there on a regular basis as I have a lot of animals. All I can say is that I wish all of you had a vet like Dave because you'd not hear a bad word against them if you did.
