Too rioght! I'm going to make sure I get every penny they've (EDIT) from me. Before the £6.50 DD incident I might have settled for a percentage... Edited - Please refrain from the use of language that could be libelous
  2. Yes there should have been, but I suspect that there was a pay and display or a meter nearby. If they can twist you out of £1.20 or whatever for 5 minutes parking they're not going to let you park for free are they? (Robbing barstewards!)
  3. Actually, the law is quite clear with regard to the use and abuse of orange beacons. In the case where you have to carry equipment to a site adjacent to a disabled parking bay or on double yellow lines, you must offload the equipment and then park the vehicle in a legal location. In cases where the equpment is fixed to the vehicle then you must apply for a suspension of parking restrictions. These rules do not apply to single yellow (without loading restriction) or taxi bays. Orange beacons are only enhanced hazard lights, nothing else. To the OP: Suppose your car had failed to start and while you were waiting for the AA the other bays filled up and as a result of your reckless thoughtlessness someone needed the bay you were illegally obstructing. Pay up and shut up!
  4. Also tell the DCA that you are in dispute over the original debt. They are not allowed to persue you for it until the dispute has been settled.
  5. What was the date you commiited the "offence" was it the day of the suspension?
  6. Fixed penalty, 3 points and £60. That's if the authorities bother. I can't count the times I've been flashed, (I'm a trucker) and I've only been done once in 20 years. That's not to say I'm base about it because I normally drive in the llimit but you do get caught out sometimes.
  7. I have just received my statements in accordance with my Subject Access Request. However, I did ask for evidence of manual intervention but this was not provided, nor was there any indication that there were no interventions. Has anyone else experienced this? How should I proceed?

Oh yes.... They won't pay a £6.50 DD because "...we can't allow your account to exceed the agreed borrowing limits." (Sic) Then they proceed to take £38 which causes my account to exceed the limits imposed!
  9. So where do you think everyone got their information from? Are they clairvoyant or something? All the information here is identical to the information I was given by an employee when I had the gumption to phone them. For those not too lazy to look you can also find it here: NatWest - Contact us
  10. At the moment MBNA have frozen the interest on my two accounts with them so I'm going to wait until after the twelve monthly review before I consider claiming. (I don't want them to resurrect my interest and possible back-date it for the sake of £200). I am doing Nitwit's at the moment though, it looks as if they owe me about £5K!
  11. I tell you what I'll do taff999, in future when you ask for advice I'll keep my experience to myself shall I? Hmm? I have always asked my bank for information and even if they didn't know the answer they've always gone away to find someone else who did.
  12. BTW, Wilfred Owen died in 1918...
  13. Why not just phone up and ask?
  14. I don't think that you have a very strong case at all to be honest. You have given it in writing that you have accepted their offer under their terms and it doesn't actually matter whether you signed the letter or not- if they can prove you wrote it then it is still legally binding. I cannot believe their cheek in offering you half of what you were claiming and then saying that they will still continue their illegal practices. In other words, you have given them your permission to carry on as before! Having said all that though, you might have a chance because the charges are still illegal whether you've ok'd them or not.
