  2. I had a car a couple of years ago owed 10,000 on it had it repossessed they sold it at auction for 1,500 and I had to pay the rest I am now wondering if this was legal and if I can claim any of the money back so to hi-jack your thread but can't seem to find any of the info on here.
  3. Not sure this is any help but my husband had his house repossessed in 1999 after they traced him to our new house which is in my name curtsy of his ex-wife. We pay £1 a month for the shortfall of £13,000 but have recently been told that every time we pay this £1 we are communicating with the mortgage company and it is not the standard 6 years like most debts but 12 years regarding a mortgage so the 12 years starts again every time we pay the £1. They recently offered to settle the debt with a one off payment of £1,000 but obviously if we had that sort of money we would not be paying a total of £12 a year.
  4. I am currently trying to reclaim charges for a friend have her statements and have noticed she has something called a service charge it starts off at 4 pound in 2000 and recently been 8 pound it also refers to it as a fee on some statements is this something i can add on to the reclaimed charges. Any help would be appreciated
  5. It could have been the next day but it is stupid I've had no letter off them thinking off going back to halifax account at least they give you 7 days to get money together the other thing is I've looked on on line banking and it now says on direct debits that car insurance is cancelled so I will have to set it up again Halifax never cancelled them either do they always do that.
  6. I have just had a charge car insurance short by £5.44 and they have taken the charge out the same day no warning no letter nothing the best thing is car insurance was 35 pound charge was 38 so was £8.44 short on their charge but they still took it. I have an account with the halifax and they give you seven days notice for charge. Can the nat west do this.
  7. Some years ago I had a credit card with MBNA I was a single parent on a low income and they gave me £2500 credit limit. They then sold the debt on when I couldn't repay. Now I am remarried and in a better position last year we remortgaged our house and paid some debts off what I need to know is can I now reclaim charges and who do I claim off MBNA or company I paid.
  8. Good luck pal dont take any rubbish they tell you make aplan and stick to it
  9. This might help as we have read alot of the forums your question is common of the halifax to say best advice and to keep your head in one direction is to stick to a plan ie 1st letter 2nd letter then court. we have heard that they say they will call but they dont.Everything you need is on this site letters advice and indepth imformation we have just been reimbersed on one account going for the second now so good luck.
  10. How do I go about donating I havent got a pay pal account so is there somewhere I can send postal orders.
  11. Dont know if this helps but the halifax had defaulted my account and taken my card and cheque book. But today they paid £2128.82 into that account so I went down with id and asked them to transfere it over to my other account with them, it took the girl half an hour to get permission to do this from head office. I would have thought she would only need my permission as they are my accounts and it is my money she eventually did it then told me that the man at head office had asked her to tell me not to deposit any more money into it, didnt know I had, shows they havent a clue what they are doing surely they could see where the deposit had come from.
  12. I had three standing orders two for a pound and one for 2 pound to nspcc I forgot about them they were due out on same day all bounced got charged 39 for each and then 28 for going overdrawn. So for the grandsum of 4 pound I was charged £145 pound, but I will forgive them since they have fully paid me back today.
  13. Got mine paid into my bank account today as well we all started court action at same time and all got paid same time. Brilliant eh. Got second account gonna do now.
