  1. Hello Help need some advise on how I can proceed with pursuing this, on 22/09/2016 I used the Dartford crossing both ways. I completely forgot to pay the charge within the 24 hours and I hold my hand up , just completely slipped my mind. I live in the Midlands so not accustomed to toll charges. I only remembered that I needed to pay in the early hours (01:30, yes I literally remembered and went online to pay) of the 29/09/2016 . I have the receipt which was emailed to me. Few days later I get a warning letter (issue date 29/09/2016) with a notice to say I needed to pay £70. On the warning letter in bold writing it states "If you pay your outstanding crossing charge(s) by 13/10/2016 - We'll cancel this penalty charge notice" Having thought I had paid the crossing charge on 29/09/2016, in my naivety, I thought the systems would be interlinked and automatically cancel the PCN. I had not received any further letters or notices regarding this. On 10/11/2016 I had to use the crossing again and this time I decided to setup an account so that it automatically deducts the crossing charge from my account. I used the crossing and received a receipt and account was deducted - I was happy that I did not need to do anything further. A few days later received another PCN for £105 plus £2.50 for each of the crossings that I made on 22/09/2016, this time the issue date on the notice was 11/11/2016. That's a £215 to pay!!!!! I tried to speak to someone from the call centre to try to put my experience forward and they were disinterested in what I had to say, advised me to make a representation on their website, however on the current letter there is no option for me to make such representation, decided to check if anyone else has had a similar experience before making a formal appeals process. Thank you for taking the time to read this long post, I have tried to capture as much details as possible.
