  1. That is fabulous news, so happy for you, and glad you are back on track. I'm still waiting to hear about my situation, no procurator fiscal letter and every day it's constantly on my mind. You outcome has given me hope as I have been terrified to apply for any jobs. As you say, really is the lowest point of your life! Thank you for the updste.
  2. Thank you so much for your reply. I have read about this so here's hoping. I guess its just a waiting game. I am absolutely ill about this and will never think of doing it again, completely stupid of me I know that. I just hope I can get my life back on track. I appreciate your response.
  3. Hi silverfox and thank you for your reply. The 3 solicitors I spoke to advised me that I don't need to tell anyone, I.e. family and friends that is. I couldn't possibly imagine telling anyone. I know my mum would just collapse if this came out. I do understand what you mean though.
  4. I'm so ashamed to say I was caught shoplifting a week ago. I have no idea what was going on in my head and it has been killing me ever since. The police were called, they were nice to me under the circumstances. It was a very small amount and my first offence. The could see in was visibly shaken. I didn't take much in other than the details would be sent to the procurator fiscal and I would receive a letter from them. They suggested I speak to my mum, but I explained that would be impossible as we have terrible family issues at the moment and this would kill her. They also suggested I see a doctor, but I am just so ashamed. I'm not making excuses for myself, I am old enough to know better, but will i ever feel normal again? I guess what I'm looking for is some advice on what to expect. I've spoken to 3 separate solicitors over the phone who have told me not to worry but there is nothing I can do until I get the letter from the PF. Has anyone out there been in my situation and could they offer me some advice. Did you manage to put this behind you, did it affect your career and life in general. I just feel hopeless. Any advice at all would be welcome.
  5. Thank you for replying and I'm glad it worked out for you in the end. Your case is almost identical to mine, which is why I was interested and I also felt exactly the same as you, from your explanation. I am so worried about it all and just hope it doesn't affect my future. Thanks again.
  6. Hi there, I was wondering if there was an update on this case. I am in a similar situation and I am patiently waiting on my letter from the PF. What happened to you? Hope all turned out well! https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?458396-shoplifting-offence-Scotland-So-ashamed-and-looking-for-advice
