  1. Thanks for your help. No, he did not sign any new contract or verbally agree to any repayment plan. All he received was a letter from Monument advising that they were now part of Barclays and that the card was cancelled and that repayment was still due. Since then he has been receiving what appears to be regular credit card bills (attached) from Monument. The first we heard of CompuCredit having been managing the account was in the letter from Capquest (attached). Hi again, what also really angers me about this is that these companies seem to do what they like: he has struggled to pay and yet has never been late or missed a payment but ultimately is now being passed to a dca!
  2. Hi, I would appreciate any advice on how I should proceed with this. My husband took out a Monument credit card in 2002 (may have been Providian card at time taken out, I believe it changed to Monument around this time??). He has always maintained regular payments on this. In 2007 Monument was taken over I think by Compucredit; the card was cancelled and debt of around £1900 transferred to Compucredit. Since then he has maintatined regular payments of circa £45 per month but with their interest charges only around £500 has been paid off over all these years: the current debt is £1405. He has now received a notice of assignment telling us that Arrow Global/Capquest debt recovery has taken over the account as of 22/12/2014. This notice is what has brought this to my notice as I was unaware of this debt. My husband is disabled and has had Parkinsons disease since 1994 and depends on DLA and income support. He had not realised how much he had paid for such a long period. Capquest say they will contact him soon. How should we proceed with Capquest? Can he have the interest stopped in the first instance as this would make a substantial difference? Is there any way he could have this written off as he obviously paid back substantially more than the original debt. Thanks in advance.
