Hi guys!! last night, I did shopping from a fake MK website, the website was so realistic that i caught by the big discounts they were offering. I made a payment for 53 pounds by my visa debit card, but i did not receive any email for the confirmation, post that i checked my account but it was not deducted from my account. Today, i called LLYODS bank and checked the status of the transaction, according to them the money is out of my account but it is not been accepted by the fake company so the money is in middle somewhere. When i asked the bank to take the action, they said till the time company does not accept the payment we can not do anything as they dont have any details, post that we can try to ask for refund. My question is in this case is there is any possibility for me to claim the money back. Bank said let us know as soon as your statement shows its deducted. Kindly suggest

Hey i am sorry i dint reply to your question, but after reading all the replies i am sure u r not worried any more. Well in my case i did receive one letter but there was no fine mentioned in it. It was jst saying that if i think i have not done anything, then reply to them in 21 days. However, as suggested by everyone here i ignored the letter. I am sure they will again send a mail to me after 21 days.. lets see what that says. .. I was only worried coz i am an indian student and leaving in July and i dont want to get stopped at airport coz of this stupidity i made. I really wish all goes well and i reach india safely without any problems. cheers

Hello all, Finally i got the letter from RLP. Its written that "our client is anxious to recoup their costs, they are also inclines to use Civil Recovery as a deterrent against further incidents. in consideration of the particular circumstances of this case, our client is prepared to suspend this case indefinitely, providing you are not involved, or are suspected to be involved, in any further incidents on any of our clients premises. You are further notified that your details will be held n strict accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If you do not believe you are responsible for the incident then you should send a full written response within 21 days, clearly outlining the specific areas of dispute and providing a defense. This is just a part of the letter, rest its explaing what exactly happened that day. My question: What is my next step? why they have not mentioned any fine or compensation in the letter? are they going to come my place and take me to jail? what is this Data Protection Act? Will i be stopped at the Airport while going back to India. Reply ASAP. Thanks

Last thing i want to clarify once the Primark has send us back home with the RLP letter, the primark is out of picture right? as u mentioned only primark can shoot a case but not anyone else. And if Primark wanted to do anything they would have never sent me back. but it looks like money making business for RLP but what is the benefit Primark getting? do they divide the profit when the people give fines to RLP?

Thanks !! Still will mail you ones i get the letter. The problem is i stay in the college hall. Sometimes the letters get misplaced. I really dont now even if they sent already and i have not received yet. The guy the primark told me, dont try to run anywhere there are cameras everywhere in the UK and they will catch hold of u anywhere and put in jail. because we have the camera footage.
