  1. Perhaps I should submit my court papers at Lincoln County Court - it might make the job a bit quicker!
  2. I think I'm going to be just a few days behind you Alan! Best of luck - keep us posted. I think I will be paying my court fees out the partial settlement!
  3. Must be! They sent me the same today as well and my full claim is only £1600. Reading some of the other posts on here, TSB have paid a bit out this last few days!
  4. Told by TSB today that they can't do that, although what they say and what they do can be two different things. Make sure you've got a 'parachute account and put the money in there - they can't have it back then without your permission. They've just given me £750, which is just under half my claim. It has cleared the small overdraft so I'm going to draw the money out and shut the account down after Christmas. The claim will go on!
  5. Had exactly the same thing today. I received £750 as a 'goodwill gesture', just under half of what I am claiming. I rang Recovery Centre in Andover and chap there told me that it was no admission and that if I wanted to pursue my claim, there was nothing they could do. He did say that in no way was payment of the £750 an admission of guilt or liability. Probably the first polite person I have spoken to at TSB! I told him that I had called out of courtesy and would follow my call up with a letter. So I put the phone down and prepared my LBA and hand delivered it to the branch five minutes before closing today! I have sent an amended schedule showing the repayment of £750. I don't know what the official line is regarding the interest when it goes to court, but I would imagine that the interest still applies to the whole charges and then just deduct the £750. The daily interest up to the date of settlement, I presume, would be charged on the lower figure? I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong!
  6. Just checked my account and the £750 is already in there! What a Christmas present! With any luck I'll get the rest back before I go on holiday in March!
  7. Not such a large claim, but it's still a win nevertheless! Well done!
  8. The post arrived yesterday and I was shocked to have heard from Lloyds TSB, bang on the 14 day limit. I thought I'd get a straight 'sod off' letter, but they have in fact offered me £750 to 'go away'. They don't know me very well and will soon realise that whilst this is the season of goodwill, it does not apply to********edit *******Lloyds TSB. The fight moves on to round two. May the Yuletide log slip from their fire and burn their bank down! Compliments of the season to all members of CAG and good luck with all your claims in 2007!
  9. Just like Lloyds TSB, they are all three!
  10. In a roundabout way, they did. Obviously, if one case went to court and the Bank lost, that would set a precedent and that would open the floodgates for thousands of consumers to start claiming. (Which hopefully they will start claiming anyway!)
  11. Well, I watched and thoroughly enjoyed it. Seeing some of these top banking people squirm under intense questioning made superb television, especially the lady from the British Banking Association. At one point, I thought she was going to cry! If only this could have been shown more primetime on BBC1! Watch now for another sudden influx of claims! Bring it on!
  12. Great programme! So it costs the banks somewhere between £2.50 and £4.50 - a bit different to their idea of what it costs. Did anybody notice how petrified the lady from the British Banking Association looked? She didn't do a very good job of convincing us that they are actually 'Service Charges' and not Penalty charges.
  13. Have just looked at the BBC website for the TV listings. The programme is called "Bank Robbery!" How true! 45 minutes to go - I can't wait.
  14. Just think of it as a savings scheme! It's another £145 they are going to have to give you back. (With a little bit of interest for the inconvenience!)
  15. Let me know what day and I'll probably join you! Do you know what, I'm actually starting to enjoy myself doing this claim thing!
