  1. dont pay them nothiing £200 plus £50 court cost is better than £1900 right? i borrowed 80 and they want £1062 so i told them to file court proceedings, they cant seize my goods cuz i only own a bed and my clothes, remember tho put money aside now for when the judge chops the cost down to loan plus 1-2 month interest and the court fees, keep track of your rec delivered letters and emails
  2. first of all dont panic they cant touch you with regards to sending bailiffs through your door, its a low priority personal debt and the courts will recognise this i currently have the same problem but my debt stands at £1062 and 3 companies already have tryied to get this amount from me. i kindly said to them on the telephone .. please provide me with a breakdown of the debt including charges that have been applied until i have this information no arrangements will be made. thats why they keep changing debt recovery companies because they cant justify the charges. just relax and repeat the same message to all the companies that are trying to "recover "the debt. each one will leave you alone in time, in the mean time contact and file a complaint with the trading standards authorities and the finicial ombudsman i have done both and ive recieved emails to say they are investigating minicredit and their "henchmen"
  3. seems minicredit has some more "hired goons" to collect for them, had a heated phonecall from SRJ debt collections, telling me i had to pay £200 now to avoid legal proceedings, i told them "get real mate the courts wont touch me im unemployed" he replied i dont know where you get this information from but its wrong.... so i said" im sure citizens adivce and consumer action group are uneducated and are totally wrong", i must add iwas seriously being sarcastic as possible even with a funny voice, he told me "this call has been recorded and will be sent to the client to show your complete disregard and attitude towards the debt" then he hung up..... hahahahah, 1-0 thanks guys for once i didnt get angry down the phone
  4. you shoud write them a letter stating they have no right to call at your property and all future contact should be made in writing i saw a funny website, the guy sent a letter to deb collecters stating if they came to his property again they would be charged the full amount of the bill, he got a letter back saying the account had been passed back to the client
  5. lol not to add any stress to anyone but a bit of friendly competition cant hurt, i loaned £100 from minicredit and now im on £1062 from opos debtboys thing is the 80 i actually recieved £50 of it got swallowed by bank charges so in reality £35 landed me £1062 debt All the best with your disputes, Brian~
  6. Hi there, First time posting on here but i always look around CAG. glad you guys and gals have this lovely little help service Im also in trouble with Minicredit which has now escalated to Opos debt collection I orginally took a loan out just after i lost my job to help pay my rent, i took a £100 loan which they charged me £20 fee for transferring the money i defaulted on the loan and they email me with "you owe us £233" thats to start with, after 2 months i recieved a letter through the post (delivered by the postman) stating they are charging me £100 for doorstep collection. .. nobody has ever knocked my door or i would have spoken the representative, a month later the same thing, postman delivered letter, £100 charge added, no person knocked my door, i email them 3-4 times saying i would not pay the amount they asked for and used an idea of offering the original loan amount plus 1 month interest, i had no response from minicredit.... 3 months passed and i recieved a lovely death threat email from Opos saying i needed to pay £1062 immediatly or court proceeding will be filed with 28 days, i emailed them just now and told them to send it back to minicredit as i will not pay £1062 for a £100 pound loan far as im concerned they can come collect the orginal loan amount and 1 month interest tomorrow if they want i got the cash in my kids saving account. what action can anyone recommend as i feel very worried that my son's saving account may be empty by christmas 2013 please help me
