  1. I don't know where the person lives but if it is in Scotland isn't the statute barring 5 years and not 6?
  2. Hi I've received exactly the same email as this today. I haven't bothered to reply to it (or any of the others) as that email address is one I seldom use. I was under the impression that mm cannot register the default only the actual creditor. Confirmation of this by someone would be appreciated. Thanks. On a slightly lighter note. I was attending an appointment this morning but my son was visiting to do some painting. The phone rang so he answered it asked who was calling & was told mm. He promptly told them I didn't drive or have a car so I wouldn't be interested in any car finance package. He then hung up.
  3. Hi Brig. I started receiving emails form this crowd a couple of weeks ago. They were sent to an email address I don't use very often & were automatically placed in my spam mailbox. 1st 2 were asking me to contact them & quote a reference no. Subsequent messages indicated that the matter referred to Pounds Til Payday & gave an amount. I think these might breach Data protection rules. They have indicated that they intend a doorstep visit. I am aware of the rules regarding these but it'll be interesting to see what happens as I have recently moved house. I have not replied to any of the emails from ascent. Are they a real person? would appreciate your comments Thanks
  4. Hi. I received 2 emails from this crowd both were automatically sent to my spam box & because I didn't know who they were 1st time that message was marked as a phishing [problem]. I am like you in that I no longer live where the loan was taken out. If the attempt make a doorstep call without your consent then they are in breach of the consumer credit act an must leave if requested to do so. As far as I am aware there is no law of trespass in Scotland.
  5. Hi. I know the original query is 4 years old but it is worth pointing out that there is no law of tresspass in Scotland so I don't know if that letter would be applicable. I am not sure what law would cover this although I am aware that the calling without appointment rule is still applicable. I've received a similar letter from Scotcall and would be interested if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks
  6. Thanks for this. I will indeed send a copy to oft & since they are part of Empingham (who are members of csa) I will contact their named person and advise him that I have done so
  7. I received a letter today from this crowd addressed to "the occupier". They say that they are trying to contact me and as per the data protection act 1998 they are attempting to confirm the data they hold is up to date. They are part of Empingham with whom I currently have dialogue. There is no reason to contact me since I have never returned mail as not known etc. Can they in fact legally make that statement about the dpa?
