  1. The debt relates to a Smile credit card that went to Equidebt when I lost my job and got into difficulties. They ended up getting a CCJ by admission against me which I kept up with for about a year. I reached a point where it was a case of pay them and starve, or eat.. It was about the middle of 2008 when the got the bailiffs involved. That is where things lay until Equidebt went under and Cabot bought a load of their accounts including mine. I've not been aggressively chased, and I've read on here that CCJ details don't get pased along when debts are bought. What prompted the query, is that the CCJ is no longer on my CRA files I spoke to a barrister on one of the local radio shows that do a free legal hour, and he was of the view that it was very unlikely to come back and bite me. however I was only able to give him a quick summary. I'm going out and won't be able to respond until later this evening.
  2. Yes to both sadly. I started paying £7 as per judgement, but struggled on JSA, bailiffs visited to collect but I was out at the time.
  3. Now Cabot have bought Equidebt's debt book, will they have been told about any CCJs in there? Mine is about 9 years old, For less than 2.5k credit card debt. Thanks
  4. Hi All I received a letter from Equidebt, who are chasing a debt bought by Aktiv Kapital from Nationwide. This debt consists entirely of bank charges. I would like your advice on, 1. Reclaiming the charges 2. Scraping Equidebt and Aktiv off my back. 3. Getting the default removed from my Credit file. Thanks in advance. Shystar
  5. I'm thinking that you could go to an employment tribunal citing constructive dismissal, but I would await the input of someone who can give a definitive answer. Be sure to go and see your union rep. That's what they're there for
