  1. Hi, A month ago, made a payment of £50 on the 24th of February to get him off my back as he was getting quite irritable that I was trying to back out. Yes...I know, there is a cooling off period which I saw after being pointed towards the T&C's in the after event. I know I'm stupid for signing anything in the first place, but I feel duped in addition to being under pressure as he was sat next to me in my living room. Wish she never won the damn competition in the first place, a competition that's cost me near on £400 Thanks,
  2. Hello all, Where to begin.. The misses won a free photo shoot with one free photo. we had the shoot done and the guy came round a week later to show us the pictures on his laptop. He then managed to convince me to buy the DVD which included 5 photos plus 1 free photo for £375. I chose the photos that I wanted and the guy filled out the "order form." Then I signed it. Now, I told him that there is no way I can pay that much out in one go so we agreed verbally a repayment plan, nothing in writing. A couple of days before the first payment was due after some discussion; my misses and I agreed that we really just cannot afford this kind of expense, so I got in touch with the guy who pointed me towards the order form saying that I signed a contract.. At no stage during the order process was I told that I was entering a contract, or was I pointed towards the Terms and Conditions which were printed in a pale blue on the reverse of the order form. Nor did it say on the order form that by signing I am agreeing to terms and conditions. This guy is now threatening me with legal action and debt collection for being in breach of contract. I guess the reason I'm here is, do I have any legal right to defend myself as I wasn't shown the terms and conditions and I wasn't directed to them before signing and wasn't told that I was entering a contract. Any help and/or advise would be really appreciated. Chris.
  3. Thanks for your reply, Ill have a read of what you have got and then fire an email off to the CEO. Cheers, Chris.
  4. Hi all, I Had £90 of bank charges due out on the 19th of this month, after some negotiation with Santander they removed £70 of those charges but they said the unauthorised bank charge of £20 stands. Now, I have gone from being weekly paid to monthly which means I am not going to receive any more pay until the 21st June. The £20 charge which went out of my bank on the £19th has taken me over my overdraft by £20. I have calculated at £5 per day that I will build up £140 of charges now before I get paid again and as my charges go out on the 19th I will be well over my overdraft by £160 by the time I get paid. I have tried talking to them about this and have explained the situation with my job change but they are not having any of it. I even asked if they could increase my overdraft just enough to cover the £20 which would prevent the £140 charges at the end of June. I don't know what to do, last month I got a letter from them saying I had received £700 of charges in total for 2011, I can't get out of this vicious circle. A few months ago I purchased an app for my phone which too me over my overdraft by 6p and I ended up getting a £10 charge for making the payment and then about £20 for being over my overdraft for x number of days. I have cancelled all my direct debits and standing orders now to try and keep the charges down to a minimum. I know it's my own fault in a way but the only reason I am over drawn now and am going to incur these huge charges next month are because Santander have taken me over my overdraft... Help or suggestions with how to deal with this would be welcome.. Chris.
  5. Hi, thanks for your reply, yeah I got myself a plastic wallet which is attached to my windscreen they aren't getting me again. Chris.
  6. Also, I am a bit concerned that if I don't pay it are they likely to return and clamp my car? I commute quite a distance everyday so if I get clamped I'm stuffed for getting to work.. Chris.
  7. Good afternoon all, I have recently moved to a new flat which is on a private road and the landlord has employed CPS Enforcement of Somerset to control unauthorised parking. I have never lived anywhere which requires me to display a permit and on one occasion I unfortunately forget to display it. I would like to add that I was parked in front of my garage on my own off road drive way and the ticket is time stamped at 01:59AM. I don't know whether being on my drive way has any bearing on having to pay it but I have now passed the 7 day payment time that allows for a discounted settlement and the fine now stands at £90 for another 7 days before being escalated to debt collection and a court application. I have read about ignoring these idiots, and I would appreciate any advice you may have. The time of the ticket concerns me I work shifts and my girlfriend feels quite uncomfortable about the fact that these people could be loitering around at 2AM. The sign displayed upon entrance to the road is attached to a lamp post and is unreadable from the car and well above eye level if on foot. Regards, Chris.
