I was looking at 10 yrs of payments to be recovered but as letter stated 2011-12 thats what im liable to pay back . It took 2 mths to sort but got final bill now and it is just the 1yr . My Review case worker in Preston said they only want the money back and are not looking to go to court if people are honest . H e said how can they recover money if im in prison ? Please dont worry but in my opinion i would get advice before calling them , i did . I know where your head is at the moment so its important to speak to a professional 1st . Good luck

Hi I got one of those to its just to say what you are intitled to if you was to be reapplying now you have changed circumstances . The big one will come after letter from person reviewing you saying the case is now closed . I had one to but big one come after with final amount just for 2011-12 . Hope i make sense lol

Hi Lis79 No i asked if that was matter closed and he said yes. Also had letter comfirming this that 2011-12 was the years they had reviewed and matter was closed there end i just need to pay . xx

Hi I owe £10.000 WOW . could of gone back 10 yrs but only asked for 2011-12 . Im not sure how i will pay it back but im no longer a nervous wreak . They only look at yrs on letter but depends if you admit it or try to argue . Good luck luv i know the stress your going through plz update us x

Hi I couldnt prove to there satisfaction we are not a couple so not to make matters worse i said this in a letter and said im sorry i didnt know i was doing anything wrong . CAB said this goes in your favour as if you appeal they will go to your employer, look at bank accounts and can question the neighbours and go back as far as they like ...omg didnt need that . I also said i wont be claiming as a couple as WE ARE NOT AND THAT WOULD BE LYING . I was advised to admit any mistakes but dont incriminate yourself further ... plz go to CAB they will help and even call for you and they get through not like us lol

HI I dont know if u have saw my uodate , i have called them after i received letter saying my money had stopped and he said im not being took to court and i will have to pay back money for 2011-12 and thats that ... they could of gone back 10 yrs but because i wrote letter and did not try to lie anymore they said they will just look for the money back . Hope this helps ... i can now sleep even though im awaiting the bill . x

UPDATE - Just to put your mind at ease i am in the same situation . I couldnt prove we wasnt together so had to say that in a letter . I sent it 15th may and did not hear anything until two weeks ago saying my money was being stopped . I called the case worker yesterday as i hadnt heard anything else and he comfirmed i would end up paying back what i was given in 2011-12 . He would send me letter comfirming amount . I asked if they would prosecute me and he said no we just want the money back . Phew they could of gone back 10yrs . Please dont worry people if anyone was going to court i would of if they were doing it . Keep the faith x

. I said i was naive and stupid for not telling them and admitted he had moved in here 5 weeks ago but as we were not together i didnt see at the time why i had to inform them . ( i wrote that in a nicer way ) . i also said its his home and he has credit on this address as he owns this house i couldnt stop him . Also ive applied for a council house as he wants me to leave now . I have not claim council tax relief as a sole occupant since he moved in .I said i cant prove to your satisfaction we are not together and would like to resolve this matter asap. Lots of sorrys because i truely am . Also stated i didnt want to make joint claim as we are not together . Hope my rambling helps u ladies x Good luck to both

I was in the same boat as you Forrest , i just said i cant prove to their satisfaction he doesnt live here its his house . I couldnt call them i was stressing out to much , and still am its been 2 weeks today . Good luck to you .
