  1. congrats! I've just had my 2nd rejection, enc is my original agreement with the account cover boxes crossed out and some waffle about how this is irrelevant because it was sold to me over the phone but guess what.....they don't have a record of this supposed call, thieveS!
  2. Good luck, this has been a long wait, however think of all the lovely extra interest you will get back
  3. :wink:same boat (ish) here, I have rejected their rejection, just waiting to hear back again now, btw my card was taken out in Feb 2004 and still holds a small balnce (around £50). Good Luck all
  4. the same letter I had sent to MBNA and Capital One who upheld. I've emailed them back stating I don't accept their decision and they need to send me my original agreement (which I know I didn't tick, I never did, never will do) and a transcript of this 'supposed' telephone conversation. I got an email back saying it had been passed to the relevant person, so i'm also wondering who the heck dealt with it in the first place:???:
  5. sent a letter to Capital One on 12th October, got a response saying to wait 56 days, just recieved a letter saying UPHELD £1787.45 Premiums £290.78 Associated Interest £714.98 8% Interest. £2793.21 Total Does that sound right though the PPI was added from 2004, surely the associated interest (card is @ 24.5%) should be more than the 8%, have they just got the figures the wrong way round?? Just waiting for cheques now and then I will be making a donation to this wonderful site
  6. BAD NEWS! Got letter from Santander stating that 'the insurance was set up on my account on 20th April 2004 blah blah It was sold to you over the phone by one of our advisors who explained the main features of the product and the price. The insurance was added to your account because you chose to do so. However you had an opportunity to change your mind as once you decided to take the product, a policy summary and policy document were mailed to you for your review. blah blah I understand you believe that you are not covered by Account cover insurance, as you are now self employed. However, you are covered by the insurance as I can confirm that being self employed does not exclude you from the main benefits of the cover. Since then shown on your statement blah blah I can find no evidence of mis-selling this insurance; therefore I am unable to refund the premiums applied to your account. blah blah ref to finance & leasing Association' (who the hell are they) I had no need for this insurance as the credit limit was only £400 and I only used it once in store to buy my pram as they gave me 10% off, I lived with my now husband and between us could have covered this no problems at the time and bearing in mind I'd ticked no on my MBNA form and that had a CL of £3500 I'm guessing you can see the bigger picture that I'm not really and insurance person although I understand this won't necessarily make a good arguement Any thoughts, letter back stating even if it was 'sold to me' over the phone (I have NO recolection of this however I had a 6 week old baby on 20th April) I had absolutely NO need for it? thanks in advance
  7. how lovely so pleased for you:-D better in your pocket than those greedy bastards!
  8. MBNA and Capital One, although haven't had PPI upheld from Capital One yet, thanks again
  9. okay thanks for that, are you saying I should ignore the fact that the PPI put me over my limit and just claim anyway?
  10. Hi thanks for replying, I'm aware of that I'm just worried that a lot of the charges are for £12 and they can refuse to pay out as this was deemed 'fair' by the powers that be, but I want the £12 charges back too as it was only the payment of the PPI that took me over the limit, just making sure I have all the facts straight before I send the letter. thanks again
  11. Hi has anybody successfully claimed back associated CC charges after a PPI claim has been upheld? If so how did you go about it and is there a template letter I've had a look and I can only find the standard one? Any help appreciated! Also just pinged off a PPI email to Santander for a Mothercare card I took out in store in 2004. It won't be a huge amount as the premium has only been between £1-£5 month however it's better in my back pocket than theirs! Still waiting to hear back from Capital One and have written my SAR letter to Natwest, so I'm not asking you to do it ALL for me Thanks
  12. I can photogragh the letter if you like, only just sinking in tbh! Huge weight lifted from my shoulders. This just about covers all my debt, I still have capital one and Santander claims, when these come in i will be making a decent donation to this site.
  13. can't spend it unfortunately however I am now debt free for the first time in 20 years with the next payout being spends!
