  1. My little girlclearing up the dog poo in the garden to save me having to do it. She asked if she could!
  2. Ive had 5 letters so far, the last one threatening debt collectors was dated 1st feb so am keeping my fingers crossed thats the last one.
  3. I wonder if they will go out of business eventually once people cotton on, especially those who have the good sense to ask you guys for advice. You have been my rock throughout and i will always be grateful to everyone who gave me their advice and opinion. Hopefully retailers who use them will come to their senses and try to put in place a better deterrent system in the future.
  4. What do you think this result means for those of us who have received letters from RLP? Do you think they will bother keeping at it or do you reckon they will give up on those ignoring them?
  5. Frogboy is going to have a field day if it goes in their favour!
  6. I last had a letter from RLP (their fifth) on 1st Feb threatening debt collectors but nothing since. Its probably only a matter of time unless they dont bother racking up more expense chasing me for £90. I cant imagine they will give up though. So far I havent replied to any of their correspondence.
  7. Thanks for that. Do you think if RLP had come back to the shop to report a lack of acknowledgement from the alleged wrongdoer, and recommended court action, the shop would do it? I should be grateful if you would read through my thread and tell me what you think about my situation if you have the time.
  8. I'd like to ask the OP whether he has ever known of any cases, in his personal experience, going to court when an alleged shoplifter has refused to pay the civil recovery demands? What does the shop do when RLP or whoever they use, tell them that their letters have all been ignored?
  9. Brit1chick - would it be possible for you to provide a brief outline of your letter mentioned above please? I have so far ignored all four letters sent to me by RLP but am getting the feeling that i should perhaps at least reply once.
  10. I received a letter about a week later. I was accused of taking an item worth £4. The "invoice" is for £92.46. I am going to ignore it, as seems to be the advice on here, and see what happens. If I receive another letter I will write back to them asking for a breakdown of the amount and informing them that unless I see copies of all their evidence against me, including CCTV footage, in order that they can prove their claim against me and give me a valid reason to pay their invoice, I will not be paying them anything. Let them take me to court if they want. It will cost them more than £92 to get to my local county court from Nottingham!!
  11. Hi, Just to say that I am involved in a situation with RLP myself, also with no police involvement. I have CRBs with several of my children's groups, schools etc so telephoned the number on one of them for information. I told them about my situation and they said there was no way anything would show on a CRB, even an enhanced CRB, unless there was police involvement.
