Any video converter
victoriaN replied to SOD'EM's topic in Technical Computer/IT/Console/SatNav Questions
Its video from my birthdays as a kid - standard VHS (i'm guessing) from the early 1990's. I used this product to convert it, which i bought from Amazon (pretty cheaply) 'ClimaxDigital VCAP302 USB 2.0 VHS to DVD Converter'. The files are on my laptop, and view ok-ish when watching on there (15 inch display), but if i pause and try to take a screenshot it goes very pixely (not sure why?!). The TV i've tried on is HD, a Samsung 42 inch. I wondered if its just the size, so the resolution isnt good enough? Any help would be appreciated. -

Ive also had problems converting videos in the past - they are very bad quality when viewed on a TV. Is this just because of the old type of video recording device whaich wasnt able to have high levels of detail? -
Got to admit that my experience of 02 customer service has not been a good one, nevertheless, this is totally out of order!

eReader and eBooks : Is it worth buying a Kindle?
victoriaN replied to Boppy's topic in eBook Readers - eReaders
Itis definately worth buying the kindle, especially if you read outside for the electronic ink capability. Much easier on the eyes than any other device. -
Got to agree, kindles are amazing - how the screen works with the electronic ink is genius. I also like my iPad as an ebook reader, and of course that has more functionality, but for reading outside the Kindle is FAR superior.

Universities must tell students which subjects to study
victoriaN replied to MARTIN3030's topic in Students
This would definately have helped me - i was so misguided with my choices at 6th form and wish that i'd have been encouraged to try new subjects - business, economics, law etc, that i actually ended up studying at uni rather than sticking with regular subjects i'd done at GCSE in order to 'keep my options open'. -
The connection fee was probably in the T+C's that you signed up to - check this. If it is, there could be little you can do.
