  1. Hi Thought I'd give you an update on RMA. Not sure but I think my account has been passed on as there seems to be a new Sheriff in town. A few weeks ago someone turned up on the doorstep of a residence I liveat a decade ago or more ago God knows how they got that address. Anyway they said it was an important matter and tha ta letter had been sent to the said address informing the occupier of the pending visit. It was a Government matter and they needed to go through a questionnaire and it would take 30 minutes. Also everyone is getting these questionnaires and it is important they are filled in and returned "to the government I suppose!!!". There were more questions such as where was I when would I be back etc. etc. until the gentleman was told to sling his hook. A few days later the occupiers got a telephone call (must have got the occupiers name from the electoral role and then via the telephone directory) from a person asking for me and where was I. It was in concerning market research and they needed to talk to me. If they took the time to look at my credit file they would see they would have to join a very long queue with with a hat. I owe the revenue a bundle so why would I pay them first. Cheers for now. Sk1ppy
  2. Hi All Got a DCA chasing me for payment. I wont go into to much detail but they have called past employers my parents and old Uncle Tom Cobley. The recently they found out me wife's number somehow and on calling her disclosed what the call was about 'The Card Company name' and proceeded to say if she answered a few security questions they could tell her more. She told them not to call her again and hung up. The call was not recorded so no proof but they take the biscuit telling all and sundry my personal affairs. A bit miffed Skip
  3. Thanks for the response dx I have got another question on unsecured credit card debt. Can a creditor seek an order on a property for a relatively small card debt. The card is a non priority debt and the monthly mortgage payments have always been made in full and have never been late. It's just this has been a threat made to me by a DCA. Cheers in advance
  4. Hi All Has anyone got any experience of AMEX charge card supplementary card holders liability. I have looked through the latest AMEX Charge Card Ts and Cs and can find this. ======================= By using your account (or by signing and keeping the card), you and any supplementary cardmembers agree to the terms of this agreement. It is your responsibility and you agree to ensure that any supplementary cardmembers are aware of these terms. Please see the “Supplementary Cardmembers” section of this agreement for additional details ======================= There is no “Supplementary Cardmembers” section as stated in the above section This from the AMEX Charge Card Ts and Cs ======================= 8. LIABILITY FOR PAYMENT 8.1 You are liable and promise to pay to us all amounts outstanding on your account when due which includes paying: 8.1.1 charges on all cards issued to you and any supplementary cardmembers even if there was no signature or card presented (including telephone, internet and mail orders) and even after cards have been cancelled and this agreement has been ended; 8.1.2 charges made by any other person if you or any supplementary cardmember allowed them to use your account; 8.1.3 charges made in breach of this agreement or fraudulently by you or any other person where such charges or use of your account or any cards issued to you or any supplementary cardmember were permitted by you or any supplementary cardmember; and 8.1.4 unauthorised charges related to a lost or stolen card or code being used by an unauthorised person under the circumstances and within the limits set out in the “Lost/Stolen Cards, Incorrectly Executed Transactions and Misuse of Your Account” section of this agreement. 8.2 Any supplementary cardmember is jointly and severally liable with you to pay to us when due all charges on this account made by that supplementary cardmember ======================= Section 8.2 implies the Supplementary Card Member is only liable for their transactions. Just to mention that the supplementary cards were never activated in the last 3 years while the AMEX account was being used. Also note that the supplementary card member signed nothing and was not even aware that they have been issued with a supplementary card. Any thoughts as its a DCA chasing an old debt and has found the mobile number of the said Supplementary Card holder. Cheers
  5. Well that's what I was hoping, we are a bit estranged atm and this would not help the situation, besides I don't want to have an imprint of my head on the bottom of a saucepan Cheers
  6. Hi Thanks for the reply. My wife has a perfect credit record on her own and the above association relates to a mortgage that was paid up a while back, all other banking cards etc. were in her own name. The mortgage was paid in full every month and on time for 15 years. The joint mortgage did not even have the same surnames. We had different surnames then. What worries me is the 'the financial association will stay for some time' if she cant get adrift of me now how long will it be before she can. Are there any presidents that have been set about the length of time this may stay with her. I hope its not 6 years Any guidance on this would be appreciated. Cheers
  7. Hi All My wife and I had a joint mortgage until recently and to be quite honest my credit reference sucks, Self employed defaults etc. We no longer have any joint commitments in terms of banks, credit cards and so on. Unfortunately my history has affected her credit reference by association. My questions are: 1. Can we remove this financial association now. 2. If we can break the financial link between us how does she do it. 3. How long will it take to disassociate her from me. 4. If we can disassociate financially, who does she need to contact. If its the Credit reference agencies, who are they. I have heard of Experion but no others. 5. If we have to contact the agencies is there a format for the letter. Thanks in advance. Skip PS the mortgage was squeaky clean, always paid up on time for 15 years.
  8. Thanks I will do that £150 for a cancellation is a bit steep.
  9. Any suggestions here I've no real issue in settling this but it says time 1st observed 18:55 to: 19:00 time of contravention 19.00. Bit harsh
  10. Hi Well it may not be 5 minutes. The time might have been from 4 minute 1 second up to 5 minutes and 59 seconds. It depends on whether the timings were from the beginning of the minute or the end of the minute. About as much chance of winning on that as I have of getting a pay rise
  11. Hi All Here's the ticket gave me 5 mins and POW !!!! you should have seen the queue at the ticket machine
  12. Hi All Here's the death threat that came today form the insurance broker, 7 days to pay. It was signed for but not by me but a person visiting the house. I never actually paid for the insurance we discussed it over the phone. When I came back off holiday there was a policy and an invoice. The cancellation of an insurance policy I never paid for is around 40+% of the yearly cost Cheers
  13. I notice in that Bailiff's letter they could seize your pension, great that would leave the tax payer to pick up the bills in you retirement
  14. Belay that me hearties They have put up the times so now it's 8.00 AM until 11.59 PM in the centre of Bristol. So I suppose I'd better pay the £25 Tax. Cheers
