  1. RESULT Im a happy bunny. Went back to the shop with my son as soon as they opened and son spoke with the owner, as a result he offered me 2 options. 1, he would get the tv repaired but if anything else went wrong it would be down to me to pay for the repair or 2, he would give me everything i had paid back and he would get the tv repaired and sell it in the shop as preowned.. That was a no brainer as far as i was concerned so i asked for the money. He transfered the money into my bank while i waited. I went straight to argos and purchased a tv there for £649 and i still have over £1000 left. I didnt realise just how much i had paid on that tv, it just shows how much interest etc gets added on. Anyway im now very happy and thank you for the advice
  2. I phoned my son last night to tell him what the shop owner had said, ( he lives about 2 hours away from me so i dont see him much ) and he has decided to come here this morning and go back down the shop with me and insist they either get the tv repaired/replaced or give me my money back. Fingers crossed something might get resolved today so i will let you know. Wish me luck
  3. Hi all, Well here i am back from my trip to the shop who got me my tv. I spoke to the owner and mentioned that he could take it back to where he got it under the s.o.g.a. He said he would normally have done that as he knows the s.o.g.a. but the problem is that he got it from currys, and as we know currys is no more. Thats why he had contacted samsung to ask for their help. So where do i go from here? Thanks for your suggestions so far
  4. Thank You both. I will go back to the shop tomorrow and ask him to take it back to where he got it, as i said he and his staff are very helpful. And yes it is a hp agreement and its due to end at the beginning of october so i hope i get this sorted before then. I will let you know how i get on
  5. Thanks for the replys. The shop is a small independent shop in the town where i live. I cannot fault them for trying to help me, the problem is that the shop doesnt actually have tvs in the shop, what happens is, you tell them which tv you are wanting, they then go out and purchase it for you and you then pay them for it in weekly/fortnightly/monthly payments. I went into the shop and spoke to the owner ( they are all really approachable and friendly, and they dont charge late payment fees either lol ) and he said that even if he collected the tv and sent it back to samsung himself, they would charge him for the repair and he in turn would obviously have to charge me. He actually emailed samsungs customer support while i was in the shop and got a reply back within 10 mins telling him that there would be a charge as it was out of warrenty, so i contacted them when i got home and thats when they told me they would pay for the part but not the labour and v.a.t. So whether the shop gets it repaired or me its going to be expensive.
  6. Hi, this is my first ever post so please be gentle with me. In october 2011 i got a samsung 51 inch 3D plasma tv. The shop i got it from is similar to brighthouse wherein you can pay weekly for items, however they dont provide any insurance products, so you only get the 1 year manufacturers warrenty even though i am paying for the tv over 2 years. My problem is that there is a fault on the tv now and the shop wont do anything as the 1 year warrenty ended in october 2012, so i contacted samsung who said as the tv is over 18 months old ( its 18 months and 2 weeks ) the best they can do is offer to pay for the part and i would have to pay for labour and v.a.t. The labour and v.a.t. would be a lot more than the part im sure. My question is, how long should i reasonably expect my tv to last before it needs repairing, and am i expecting too much from samsung. Thank You for any advice.
