  1. Hi everyone, any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated. My son is currently in receipt of Jobseekers allowance,he lives with his partner and their 2 children.Last week he had a work programme appointment,he received a phone call in the morning from somewhere he had sent an application for a job to asking him to come for an interview, the time of the interview left him ample time to still go to the work programme, however the job interviews ran late and he had no credit on his phone to notify the people at the work programme,he arrived 9 minutes late and was told his jobseekers allowance would be sanctioned for 1 month,he explained the reason why he was late and was told to put it in writing,he did this and gave the name and phone number of the person who had carried out the job interview,he has received a letter saying going for an interview was not a good enough reason for him being late, they have never contacted the employer. This just seems crazy to me,he's on Jobseekers,he has to apply for a certain number of jobs or they sanction his money yet when he goes for an interview they still sanction it,he has applied for hardship money and has been given £80,ironic thing is that at his last work programme meeting they left him waiting for 50 minutes because they had no-one available to see him so it's ok for them to see him late but not the other way round.
  2. Hi everyone, this may be quite lengthy so please bear with me: would like some advice on the following please. My friend filled in his ESA50 form abot 6 weeks ago,he stated that he was to start chemotherapy treatment this month,he added a note that this could be confirmed by his specialist, due to starting the treatment should have made him exempt from having a medical but they sent him a letter saying he had to attend one.He phoned Atos who told him the DWP had made this decision,he phoned the DWP who told him they had made the decision he needed to have a medical because of the information his GP had sent to them,on contacting his GP he was told neither Atos or the DWP had ever contacted him and he would have informed them of his upcoming treatment anyway. He again spoke to Atos who confirmed he did not have to go for a medical and they would contact the DWP concerning this,he phoned the DWP the next day and they told him a mistake had been made and he did not need to have a medical,he has spoken to Atos and the DWP several times in the last week trying to get this sorted out because he is now being hounded by both departments over why he did not turn up for his medical and is being threatened with having his money stopped,he can really do without all this pressure but he just doesn't know what else he can do,can anyone offer any advice please?
  3. Hello, I had my medical for ESA 3 weeks ago,I am currently on IB,I have been informed that I am to be placed into the WRAG group,I asked for a copy of my medical and the doctor clearly states that he does not feel a return to work for me is possible.I feel that I meet the descriptors for the Support group because: He states I cannot move from 1 chair to another with physical help from someone He states I have loss of bladder at least once a week He states I have loss of consciousness or awareness at least once a week Cannot turn the pages of a book with either hand Cannot remain at a work station for more than 30 minutes Cannot pick up and move a 0.5 litre carton of liquid Why oh why are the goverment paying Atos huge sums of money to carry out these assessments if they are then going to ignore the evidence? I will of course be appealing
  4. Thanks for advice but I don't know the address I sent my form to,postcode was CH70 8DP,anyone possibly know the address please?I've had a letter regarding my medical but that came from Bootle, would it be worth sending there?
  5. Hi everyone, I have filled my ESA50 form in and am waiting to hear further,I have now received a medical report from my consultant that I wish to send in but do I send it to Atos or to my local Jobcentre? Thankyou in advance for any help
  6. Need some advice please,I was overpaid housing benefit for 6 months in 1995,an amount to repay this has been deducted from my housing benefit ever since,I feel certain that the debt should have been repaid last year but despite numerous requests to the council for a statement of how much I have paid these have all been ignored, all I get is a standard letter telling me I am still in arrears,am I entitled to see a detailed account of the initial sum of overpayment and a summary of all payments I have made,I am really getting nowhere with the council.
