  1. Hi . I have a problem of which i could use advice on. I purchased a new contract phone from phones4u. The problem i have is this. I told the salesman i needed a phone for business and the features i needed were for it to conect to the internet and connect through my laptop so i can do sales via credit card if i am mobile. I was then showed a galaxy sii of which i could accept credit cards and also use the wireless tap function with barclaycard ( basically making my phone a credit card reader) and it would do everything i wanted. on an orange contract We then went down the route of the repair service aggreement of which he stated if anything goes wrong with thephone it would be replaced etc. for £9.99 a month. So i took out the contract. 4 days after i got the phone i left it on the dashboard of my van and i heard the screen pop and the glass cracked where the button pushes throug the whole in the glass. The Phone still worked perfectly although potentially you could cut your finger on the glass. I took the phone back to phones4u and they stated yes you are covered through your insurance and would have to make a claim through them.I explained i havent got the insurance documents from there premier plan yet. They then stated there is a £50 excess on this phone that i will have to pay and my phone would have to be sent to there repair centre and would take 14 working days to repair. but you are covered. If i was told this i would not have gone ahead with the contract as i need the phone for business This was not stated to me at the point of sale and i would potentially now have a loss of the excess of £50,1 months insurance £10 and also 1 months line rental with orange of £46. costing me over £100 and still not have the use of the features of the phone for a month. There answer was to cancel my insurance if i wasnt happy and go elsewhere for insurance. I then spoke to orange and the operator did say she would give me some discount towards my airtime after the problem was sorted out but she could not do anything as my contract was through phones4u not them. Orange did state though if i had purchased through them i would only be paying £15 excess and would have got a phone the next day. They also stated that they could not cover the handset as it was not supplied by them just to rub salt into my wounds. After making enquirys I find i am locked into my contract now for 24 months and i cannot get a next day replacement repair contract. of which iw ould need to keep my business up and running. The only way i can get out of the contract is to pay £740. and start again which is unfair. Even once the handset is repared this time if something went wrong with the handset in the next 2 years I would potentially not be able to trade for up to 1 month whilst the phone is repaired again. I would like any advice of what to do next. thanks Paul
  2. check what extras you get as well on stage 3 (like the voucher schemes, self employed credit, discretionry fund, back to work bonuses etc),as through experience these stop and you get no help passed stage 3 Paul
  3. Well thats good news and at least your not out of pocket even though your back to square one. Im not sure about experian as I generally use equifax for my personal online credit checks and as far as i can remember its instant but ive been with them for a number of years. Im glad I could be of help Paul
  4. have you set the printer as the default printer and does it show in printers on your control panel
  5. Also if it is this payment plan that is causing your nightmare add a note to your credit file giving more information. As in the future it would be helpful with a statement rather than just going back to the lender saying an adverse payment plan.
  6. The first thing to do is not panic. Its best to make sure what this adverse credit is on your file, and go on from there If it is what you state Check the status on this and see when the last time it was updated by the dca. I would also check with the broker to see what specific reason they are charging the £150. As you havent pulled out they did and you were happy to continue with the arrangement. Also try and find out if their is a way to continue with the arrangement or postpone it as you need to find out what this adverse credit is on your credit file. (this should also postpone the £150) If they refuse. You need to state under their terms and conditions,"People who are rejected for a mortgage by the Woolwich due to affordability concerns will not be liable for the charge." as the application was declined by themselves you should not be liable. If they agree. Dependant on what you find on your credit report Explain the situation. If it is the 13 yr old debt that is at fault it should not show on your credit report as clarified by the OC and should not effect their decision making process Hope this helps.
  7. Under normal circumstanses it doesent The ccj is over 6 years and should not show on your credit file as it may be statute barred.(worthwile checking) From the information youve given me you are still making payments, even though nominal for an old debt which will read as active on your credit report. This may put up your adverse payment plan and go against you as long as it is there. It may be worth while to approach the original company and check if that debt has been written off especially if you are paying the third party as you are paying your £1 a week it may be the reason you cant get a mortgage. It may also be prudent to add a note to your credit file explaining why your paying this account in such a way. As this could go in your favour on credit referals in the future. Paul
  8. be aware that vm do cut you off if you excede your "shadow credit limit" which is normally 75% of what they say your credit limit is. and they send the over disconnect pulse as soon as the bill is generated.
  9. Have you asked at the job centre if there is an alternative place to go to. I went on one of these 13 wk courses for 4 hrs per week with PeopleServe which basically was the same, you couldnt search for jobs, if you could get on a computer, as many of the sites had a filter on and was basically a waste of 13 weeks of my life. I am currently on a 40 week course with a4e, as i asked for an alternative to peopleserve. Its more orientated to small groups or one 2 ones. If you ask at your job centre they may find an alternative. If they say they cant help you ask for the number of the stage 3 team in your area they should be able to help you better. I hope this helps Paul
  10. I will bow to your judgement on this. Just adding 1 point which is in my opinion and may or may not be relevent. If you plead guilty to a criminal offence Then doesent a whole new can of worms open up in the future such as having a criminal conviction and all that entails ?
  11. Firstly If she pleads guilty she would be admitting she had knowledge that she did not have a licence. Secondly the The reference number for your application is DD**0079**13.This shows "intent to pay" which was issued 1 month before the new licence was ment to expire. Thirdly when The tvl inforcement officer arrived stating there was no licence a new licence was purchased at that time, rectifing the mistake.
  12. Also Adverse credit info could be anything from applying to too many financial institutions in the last 6 months or late credit card payment in last 6 months The best way is just wait and see what experian have to say, to see what this adverse check the details on your credit report and also verify that their is no major differences in the electorial roll and other financial outgoings to what was in the application. If there is nothing obvious .Does the remortgage application decline letter specify why your declined and if it doesent can you find the reason from the bank and check if it ties up with your credit report. If it is because of either of the two items you stated earlier ,it might be worth while to add a note explaining your token payments. The ccj should not show as it is over 6 years old
  13. sure here is the link to where i got the quotes from http://www.clickoncredit.co.uk/newsArchive/Mortgagewithdrawalfeeintroduced.html Ive also found there mortgage lending criteria on http://www.mortgages-direct-uk.com/woolwich.htm which gives outlines on what they will accept. I hope this helps Paul
  14. From what i can find out the £150 is only due if you pull out of the deal (finding a cheaper mortguage) and was bought in to protect both sides. I have found this statement from the woolwich. "People who apply for a mortgage with the Woolwich and then pull out part way through the process are to be charged a £150 fee." The Woolwich added that only those who decide not to take out a mortgage with the group, despite having been accepted, and those who have an application rejected because they have given false information will have to pay the fee. People who are rejected for a mortgage by the Woolwich due to affordability concerns will not be liable for the charge." You may have to look in to the terms set down by the specific bank from their own website.
