  1. Yes that is the letter I have, no details of anything else. I'm just going to ignore it as they havent stated what it is about, but if i get any other letters (I have a feeling....) then statute Barred letter it is! I'm still going to report the letter to trading standards as they arent supposed to send out letters like that are they?
  2. Thankies!! Dont worry, I have no intention of calling them! Before I found this site I made the mistake of calling fredrickson and was reduced to tears! LOL! Never again! They havent stated what the letter is in regards to, which I believe they have been pulled up on before? I'm busily reading through all the threads on these 'people' and its just shocking what they have been allowed to get away with! This site is a godsend cause if i didnt know about SB and all that I would have been in a total panick and would've been straight on the phone! I guess thats waht they rely on!
  3. Also, there are no CCJs showing on my report.
  4. Hi Everyone, Just after a wee bit of advice regarding a letter I received the other day from Mackenzie Hall, it said they had been provided my address as being the possible residential details for the person they are looking for (my name) and they wanted to contact me regarding a 'personal matter', get in touch quoting Ref blah blah blah...... I have ignored it, obvs LOL! Now, on the letter I noticed an email address at the top - cabot @ mackenziehall. I checked my Equifax credit report and there is a default registered by cabot for a Credit Card, start date 19/01/2005, default date 08/08/2005, no other details or payment history. I cant think what this is, I did get into financial trouble years ago when i was a student and was silly, i had a credit card with capital one but i dealt with aktiv kapital and this has been settled, letter confirming this is filed and credit report shows settled. I'm thinking it may be an old storecard, although I still have a Dorothy Perkins one and this old one was a Burtons one () so surely they would know me? If the start date of this Cabot on my credit report is Jan 2005, then I'm thinking the orginial creditor file will have dropped off as its 6 years. Are Cabot allowed to put seperate defaults on my credt file? As I live in Scotland, am i correct in saying that this is now Statute Barred? I have never heard from Cabot, havent written any letters to anyone and havent paid since well before January 2005. Also, on checking my Credit Report mackenzie hall have entered 2 searches on table one, the reason being 'outstanding debt' - am i right in thinking they arent allowed to do this? thanks for answering my questions, sorry my post was so long!!
  5. Hi, Its a mobile phone bill for Orange. It is my debt, its old and would probably be statute barred by now but I aknowledged it by sending in the Standing Order Form last year, unfortunately I didnt know anything about this site then!! I am prepared to pay it, thats not the issue, but I just dont understand why if I have an arrangement in place with Transcom why I now have Fredrickson on my back!! I think I will just contact Arrow regarding this and see what they say!
  6. Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm working part time atm so I can pay this at a stretch, tbh I just want them off my back!!! I'm confused as I'm paying Transcom but Fredrickson are chasing me for this now!! Why are two companies chasing for the same debt!! If Transcom passed this back to Arrow who then assigned it to Fredrickson, then surely its against the rules for Transcom to take my £20! Should I contact Arrow to tell them that I am paying Transcom and this shouldnt have been passed back to them!!! Arrrghhhhhhhh!!!! LOL!!!
  7. Hi all, I'm in need of some advice of thats ok! I will try and keep this as short as possible!! Background, I received a letter from Copes July last year, acting for Arrow Global regarding a phone bill, i called them up as I was scared by this, and spoke to Transcom who must work with Copes (?) and agreed £20 per month. Filled in the Standing order form and sent it off, didnt think anymore of it. They called me at the beginning of March this year to say that as my Bank Account was with a certain bank that i would have to go into the Branch to set the S.O up, which I did. They hadnt taken any money out my account so far, but I hadnt noticed tbh as I had lost my job and my jobseekers money was used to pay everything!! I called them to let them know that I had set up the S.O for 28th of the month, they said fine, if they didnt receive it they would be in touch, payment has came out fine and havent heard anything from them! On Fri, I received a letter from Fredricksons dated 26th March saying that they are instructed by Arrow global to collect payment in full as I have ignored previous attempts to collect, do not ignore as this is serious....... I'm confused and dont know what to do about this! Who do I contact RE this, Arrow, Transcom or Fredrickson? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! thanks!!!
  8. Hi all, thanks for all your advice!! I'm not going to write to them at the moment because I have no idea why they are writing to me!!! They have put no details on their letter apart from their reference number! I have never had a letter before from anyone that doesnt state the amount owed etc...:-|
  9. Well, come to think of it I actually had to get a credit check last year as I took on a temp job at a bank..... Would it not have shown up if it was not statute barred? Mmmm!!
  10. LOL!! I doubt very much they've got agents all over the UK or would fork out to send someone to Glasgow! they can try, but they will be getting ignored! I have to say, from reading all the posts about them they sound like eejits!!! I was a bit terrified at first, but now know there's a slim chance they will turn up at my door and if they do I just wont answer, or tell them to get lost!!! They havent even said what they are writing to me for, so hopefully they are just fishing!!
  11. Thanks for that!! i will wait with baited breath for the next thrilling installment from them LOL!!
  12. Hi all, I'm a newbie here, have been lurking for a few days and think this site is fab!! Was wondering if anyone could help with this: Received a letter 6th March from Ruthbridge addressed to the Occupier asking to contact the undersigned on a freephone number - was suspicious of this so kept the letter but never called them. Then received a letter on 13th March addressed to myself with a ref no, (after reading some posts it looks like its an internal ref with the initials of the person I would be dealing with!) saying I had been traced at the address and to contact the Recovery Divison immediately.....if I didnt contact within 5 days an agent may call between 7am-9pm! There is no details of any amount or who it could be for or reference apart from theirs! I have not called them after reading about them - NO CHANCE LOL!! The only thing I can think this may be for is an old mobile bill that I did forget about when I moved house, maybe around £150 or so, I dont think its quite statute barred yet, I live in Scotland and I think the last I paid was around end of 2005-2006! My question is do I just wait for them to send a letter with more details as it does seem very vague. Then if they do get in contact, what should letter should i send for a mobile contract? I havent checked my credit score yet, thought everything was ok as I was able to get a mortgage a couple of years ago, and cant think of anything else it could be as everything else is paid off or just about paid!! Thanks for your help with this!!!
