  1. Hells...I suggest that you contact Audrey Gallagher at Customer Focus. She is very much aware of this practise and from what I understand she believes British Gas have ceased charging the L/lord a reconnection fee where the meter has been tampered with and their tennant has departed. I am aware of a similar instance recently where I was asked to assist and after the L/lord pointed out these facts to British Gas they dropped all the charges. I would also add that the meter is the responsibilty of the bill payer and not the owner of the property. This is why all L/lords must get their tennant to put the utility bills in their own name. Please let me know how you get on.
