Crisis talks at Thames Water over its debt problems. Since this was written, investors such as USS [universities pension scheme] and the Chinese wealth fund have said that Ofwat's conditions are unviable and they won't invest any more money. https://archive.is/vojVl

The sub-postmasters scandal

From the Times today. 'The Tory peer Lord Arbuthnot of Edrom, a tireless champion of subpostmasters, was played recordings showing that managers knew of Horizon system errors' He believes Paula Vennells lied to Parliament. https://archive.is/9OTup -

You would need to send back the form from the court saying if you plead guilty or not guilty if you haven't already done so. If you plead guilty, you need to think about your mitigation reasons. Other people may turn up with more suggestions. HB -

I would move the bit about an extrajudiciary resolution to the end, so it's clear what you're asking. It's up to you but instead of that, I would ask for an out of court settlement to take into account the unpaid fares and their admin expenses. HB -

As long as it's true, NB. We don't recommend lying to TfL or the court. Fwiw, TfL prosecutors aren't easily swayed by tales of woe because they've heard it all many, many times. Best to keep that part fairly short, as Kyosanto says. HB -

He normally wins, doesn't he? I'd have thought the right thing to do would be not to enter in the first place if it's his own club. -

Have you checked how much space your letter takes up on it current form? We usually suggest keeping to one page of A4. HB -
There are websites that let you exchange money and send it to your bank. The only one I know is Wise, hopefully other people will come up with more names. HB

Hello, welcome to CAG. I don't think Barclays are allowed to keep your money and obviously you will need to open an account with someone else once you get it back. I'm sure other people here have had their accounts closed and the money has been returned. Unfortunately I don't have time to look at the moment but have a read around the Barclays forum and see what happened to other people in your situation. People should be along to advise later. Best, HB

You can keep writing to TfL about settling OOC, but please run the letters past us first. If you convince them, they can withdraw the court case. You can also speak to the prosecutor on the day and ask about a settlement. This would need to be paid in one go, normally all the missed fares plus an extra amount for their admin costs. I don't know if they take cards nowadays or if it's still cash only. You need to work out all the fares you evaded and the cost of that and start saving up. EDIT: The court form says £326.60 in fares although that might reduce a bit, plus £375 for their investigation costs. Have you replied to the court form? If the case is 22nd April there must be a deadline soon. HB -

He sounds worried. Anyone who donates probably needs to view this as a gift, given Donny's record on repaying debt.
