  1. also like to say i got excellent advice and help from BankFodder re: PPI. Within a couple of days sending letter all PPI dissapeared from my account like it never existed. No explanation/no apologie/no regard to the fact that this may have caused an unfair advantage in there favour. But hey....I havnt finished yet.
  2. Hi, you might want to take a look at the industry practice regs which were reported in Oct 2008 RE: PPI, Studio now known as ACE are one of the companies that were looked at for the PPI. [email protected] i found some interesting facts from this re: Freemans PPI.

  6. Hi Shadow Yes i realise this and it has had the detremental effect they had intended in that my credit score is now 0 because of them. I had tried really hard to keep my credit rating in tact and pay off owed debts and now i feel totally bullied that they are allowed to do this and im well p****d Off. when contacted regarding inacurate info they hold, common sense can see that this is not right yet they bluntly refuse to delete/amend the data excersizing there right of excemption under Schedule 2 (Section 4) data Protection Act 1998. Perhaps its me and the world has gone mad but this is ludicrous and alarming that they can do this. They also included a copy of the information commisioners statement dated December 2006 re credit reporting. I will send Letter before action today and i fully intend to go down the court route, i dont like what im reading about the information commisioners office and how they deal with data from the 1998 DPA. Aswell as there delays in response because they are so busy.

  8. Hi S Thank you for the email. I will buy the book and also pursue for financial dmages/compo too because right now i should have gone back to work but cant because im constantly thinking about this issue/s I have a few issues with this company. 1.) Non compliance of SAR despite cashing my cheque and realising they have added it to my account balance. 2.) Under the current circumstances that they want to enforce one of three accounts for which they refuse to update incorrect info ie DOB/Address/date of opening account i have asked for SAR to identify if this is in fact my account. As stated above they have not sent anything and are now out of time. But they continue to report late payments on my CR and send me threatening letters by the day if i dont pay. I did pay off an account in Nov 09 for which i was satisfied was my account. This account held all relevant details correctly and date of account opening was correct. I dont understand how they could have 3 accounts all with different info .....yet all stated under the 1 number. 3.) PPI....there is also an issue with PPI being added to the account without my permission, when queried i was told it was added to protect my payments should i ever be in a position not to uphold my commitments, yet for this first time in my entire life i had a really bad couple of months and when i acted upon the PPI being in place it was not suitable to me. So really what i want from this company is a number of things. 1.) remove all negative data from my CR files relating to these accounts because they are inacurate and are causing me distress. 2.) I want this company to give me the RIGHT of access to my personal data in order for me to accept or decline these accounts. 3.) I want this company to compensate me for the PPI F.U. 4.) I want them to remove any info relating to any outstanding amounts including all charges administed because of there lack of transparansy 5.) I want compensate for the grief caused when this was highly unecassary. 6.) And lastly i want them to apologise for making me go grey with frustration and the obvious lack of common sense that could/should avvert these situations. ***wont be holding my breath but im gonna have a bloody good go at them because they are in the wrong on all accounts above. ***
  9. about to start court action against Freemans and just want to ask if anyone has purchased the new guide to the small claims which is here on the home page, and really if it is laid out in laymans terms for the like of me. Thanks in advance.

Hi, im in exactly the same position with Freemans were as they had added PPI to my account without my knowledge, when challenged, it was then that i noticed on the credit reports that this account had been split into 3 accounts albeit all with the same account ref number. all 3 accounts also held different personal data included inacurate DOB, they also have one of the accounts dated Mar 2005 that it was opened from a house that wasnt built at that time, but they refuse to remove or amend the inacuracies excersising there right under SCHEDULE 2 (Section 4) Data Protection 1998. This is very much out of my comfort zone and the more i find out how these companies work the more i dislike and hate people taking advantage of people when they are vulnerable. I have decided that it is now time to take court action, after reading a lot of issues regarding the information commissioners office, FSA,FSO, i believe that court action is the only way to stop this sort of behaviour. " and i dont take this decision lightly.
  11. O i forgot to answer the first question. No he didnt give me the failure notice just the pass certificate. All other times it has failed i have had the failure attached to the pass certificate once its been fixed.

I was told i needed a new rear tyre which he i believed had been changed. And the 3rd fault being the seatbelt.
  13. Hi, im looking for advice re MOT. Have been taking my cars to the same guy for over 10yrs now and hes always been ok. Until now. Took car for an MOT and it failed. he told me it failed and needed a new trye and the middle seat belt. I took the car back the following day and asked him to do the work, he said he couldnt that day but would pick up from my house the following morning. 9am next morning he arrived and as he was leaving he handed me a set of car keys...i asked what they were for and he said "you will need to use it to collect the kids from school". a week went by and didnt hear anything but my baby son was really sick that week so collecting the car was last on my mind. The 2nd week i called him and asked were my car was that it was the longest tyre and seat belt change in history. The assistant at the garage said he had no idea were my car was he had seen it the week before but couldnt tell me anything and i would need to call back when the owner was in. I called several times by phone and went in. Finally i got hold of him and he said he had forgotten all about it with being busy. That evening my friend called and told me that the owner had been driving around in it as she had seen him on several occasions. Another week went by and still nothing....i was starting to get fed up when he turned up at my house. He said here is the keys will sort the bill and post. I didnt to this day recieve a bill. But he has phoned my ex numerous times asking him for £750. He told him there was 5 things wrong and not 2. I didnt recieve a failed certificate from him this time which is normally attached to the MOT. Can he charge me for work that i didnt know about, didnt agree to, and if he had told me the cost i would have declined and waited. To date i still havnt recieved a bill.
  14. Hi, can you give me a little advise. Freemans Catalogue have issued 2 defaults on my credit report whilst i await for details from them of all account activity they hold as i am disputing the account was not opened almost 3 years prior to me opening it. They have cashed in the £10 i sent them and today i have recieved a letter with very basic info and not what i was expecting. Anyhow my question is : Can they add these 2 default notices to my credit report whilst we are in dispute?
