  1. The insurer has asked you who owns the vehicle (who would suffer the financial loss if the vehicle was written off) and a 2nd question who is the registered keeper. The owner could be a person or company or finance company (think PCP etc...). The registered keeper is the one that receives the fines from DVLA and is responsible for taxing a vehicle etc. You have said that you were however they have received the v5 presumably following the write off and it is your 'partners' on the policy. There is a difference between Spouse/civil partner and partner. Spouse etc have said vows and have signed some paper that give them the rights to more or less marriage. This is important as the insurer will see spouse and civil partner as sharing the insurable interest as the question states. You in your name say my partner which suggests it is not a civil partnership but a common law arrangement which the insurer would not view in the same light as spouse. If the insurer was able to prove through its underwriting criteria that they would not offer cover until that point then they can refuse the claim. They should refund your premium however if they believe it to be an innocent mistake. HTH
  2. So I got a few things from littlewoods catalogue choosing to monthly at 0%... my first statement comes and I duly pay them several days before they want their money. The day i got paid, 23rd of December 2009. I just got my second statement in, saying 28ish pounds must reach us before the 23rd of January. Now my normal pay day is the 25th and I was planning to pay them then. I may have enough money to pay them when they want their money but im not 100% sure about that. Why have they changed the date that it is due to be taken out? Im writing them an email. I dont want to get a bad credit score, im only young!
  3. she rang up today and the sum of £9 was correct according to them. As she had been overpaid apparantly. She hadnt used up all of her holiday entitlement I know that, she worked 18 hours a week and had about 10 'shifts' off. I do 10 hours a week and I am entitled to 14 days off in a year. Oh well, looks like shes going to wait until her uni loans go through before she can pay this off!
  4. Hi, newbie here just looking for some advice. MY girlfriend rang me today and was crying down the phone. I asked her what was wrong and she explained her situation. She works for a supermarket part time and is paid in arrears monthly on the 25th of the month. She left on the 30th of August, as we were going on holiday on the 1st of Sept and she did not want to have to pay any holidays back. She also had holidays in July btw. Since she was paid in arrears she should have just under 2 weeks wages, roughly 140 a week. She also did bits of overtime so this should only have increased her pay. SO today all her direct debits should have come out but they didnt. She rang her bank and found out that her employer only paid her £9! So there was not enough to cover her direct debits. She cancelled them instantly. Since she has quit she has to ring up head office about pay. Already tried the store. So tomorrow when she rings is she able to claim any costs incurred by the bank and or companies back from the employer? They are notriously bad for paying overtime but this is ridiculous!
