Yes, Credit file says i owe Lloyds TSB £2590 Last Updated -29 February 2012
-
So i should refuse to pay them anything?
-
sorry, i never know which forum to put them under
-
what do you mean by "forget it"?
-
I have only 1 debt left to pay off and it is with BLS, its the biggest one i had and is £2590 I called them today (i know i shouldnt) and they offered me a reduced settlement of £2000 I was hoping for less (£700 - £1000), should i write to them and offer less or go directly to Lloyds? The debt has been passed around a lot of different companies in the last 5 years , i think BLS have had it 2 or 3 times

Finally out of debt - but AWFUL credit rating
Fine&Dandy replied to Fine&Dandy's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
Due to taking a good redundancy package (and luckily finding another job straight away) today i have finally cleared my debts. All my creditors agreed to state "satisfied in full" on all my records. Yesterday I had 7 outstanding debts and my credit report stated the following: Credit Scores & Ratings Using data seen by Lenders Callcredit 241 Equifax 221 Using data seen by Landlords/Employers Callcredit 327 Equifax 327 Negative Attributes: 2 Late Accounts 9 Defaulted Accounts 2 Court Judgments (both say Status Active and i am looking into how to change this) My questions are 1) Will paying everything off increase my rating? If so by how much? 2) How can i improve my rating? Have i no chance until the CCJs and Defaults leave account? Thank you all -

i had an email back from BCW - does this sound right? Once the payment of £203 is made I will issue a letter to you confirming that this settles the outstanding debt and no further payments are due on the account. Any queries that you have with regards to your credit file would need to be addressed by yourself, therefore we would not be able to contact O2 to ask them how they have or will mark your credit file. I asked who at o2 i need to speak to and was told If you contact O2 customers services I am sure they will able to assist you with your enquiry. This can;t be correct can it? -

how does a partial settlement affect me and my file? -
i emailed BCW offering a settlement figure and put in the following statement I also request that, if accepted, you will mark any entry on a credit reference agency file relating to the above account as "satisfied" in full. i got this reply from BCW Your credit file will not be amended by Buchanan, Clark & Wells, this is because any defaults that are registered on your credit file are done by the original creditor, which in this case is Telefonica O2 UK limited. Once the settlement is paid we will contact Telefonica O2 UK Limited and make them aware of this payment. i want to get rid of this debt but what would will happen to my credit file? will this debt be changed to satisfied? what other options are there? thanks for any help

I am 31 years old and have been struggling for many years with a gambling problem - i have defaulted many times, had 1 CCJ and basically paid little or none of my bills for years Now i have agreements with all my debtors and paid off many with reduced full and final settlements. As i still live at home with my parents this has been a help - now i want to rent a place of my own but im worried my credit rating will stop me i earn a good wage - amazingly while my personal life was dissolving into oblivion i have had many promotions at work and earn £25k - enough to rent a very nice place I realise it will be a long, long time until i can get a mortgage but is there any hope of me being able to rent a full furnished apartment? will i need to go through a private landlord or will letting agencies help me if i can prove my wage? Thanks in advance
