  1. Hi was local authority social housing now been taken over by a new private managing company so we have to answer to them for service charge etc and not the council
  2. Hi I do not know if in the right forum but I am a leaseholder of a flat from a local authority but has now been taken over by aprivate company , i put my own double glazing in and now they are doing the double glazing themselves and i think they want to charge me for the rest of the other properties but I am sure I was told by the local authority that mine had to be like for like and my only contributions would be for the communal stairwell windows and not my own and other properties, is this right. Thanks in advance Roy
  3. Done the cheese on toast but never got the eggs right though will give them a go ...
  4. Because its been a while since anyone was on this thread....perhaps everyone has got rid of their halogen cookers
  5. How does the field test work do you go to hospital or opticians, one eye test or two, glasses on or off...thanks in advance
  6. has everyone stopped using their halogen or what...lol
  7. just read the posts and maybe some of the basics are covered....if not do ask people they will help if you ask the questions......i myself do not cook from frozen thats my choice but the sausages i put on bottom rack from defrosted or defrost in halogen then on 175 0C for 10 mins then 200 0C for another 10 mins then rest ........i do most at 175 but when cooking other stuff i use fan assisted timings on the boxes - 10% but you could always add more mins but cannot takeaway mins ....alot is trial and error and to taste .....bacon the same bottom rack 15mins 175 0C but add more mins if wanted cooked more........just try but keep an eye on it.....if when satisfied with the results of what you are cooking and timings ........write them down for your information.....we all do not get it right first time. but do ask people .......mine is used everyday.......as i said before i am known as ' won't cook don't cook ' and if i can do it so can you ........people on here will have different ways of cooking with it so they might put different suggestions, so do what ever suits you .........do not give up........
  8. well done stefanie for getting your HC and happy cooking
  9. well the reason why i said sarahs is because you get all the extras with it..(i did get my brother one) i use the jml one myself and a my mates use one from coopers.......but you could always buy of the shopping channel where you can try first and send back if not satisfied, but more expensive without the extras ,,,but anything you buy you have a statatory 12 months warranty on them. The ones i mentioned have had no problems returning them if faulty within the 12 months. As you can see that most of us on here have one of the ones named and you can see the results. I could send you the cooked chicken cooked in the JML.....lol
  10. well just tried to heat a cup of water but the cup was to hot to handle and the water was cold, unless someone else knows about reheating the coffee. at least the HC will give you a chance for you to cook a more variety of dinners and not just microwave meals, a good roast dinner and jacket potatoes etc.......
  11. never tried heating coffee.....keep the microwave as you will need to part cook things i.e. jacket potatoes and reheat things but just put away the 2 ring hob do not throw away .....as if the halogen goes down you will need something to cook on.......if you think that you could do without them just put away not throw away just in case you change your mind.....have you got a kettle....lol
