  1. After 15 months of unemployment I have just started work full time today 21/3/11. Jobcentre have advised that I apply for WTC. I am single and have no children. My annual income will be £14k. I have decided to delay my claim until the new financial year starting 6th April 11 but I am hoping to get it back dated to 21/3/11. My earnings are as follows:- 2009/10 - £7900 (Part paye, self employment, income based JSA) 2010/11 - £3400 ( income based JSA estimated) 2011/12 - £14000 (paye employment estimated) My question is will I be assessed on 2010/11 £3400 income, in which case I estimate a payment of approx £50 per week. However will this be classed as an overpayment and have to be paid back when I renew in April 2012 as my earning for 2011/12 is likely to take me over the £10k disregard. I am new to this and don't really understand how WTC work. Thanks
  2. Please find attached scanned agreement & t's & c's. Could someone please take a look and let me know if it is unenforceable. This is one of my creditors and I am currently paying them £1 token payments until my CCCS review scheduled 17th July. If it is unenforceable should I send them a letter requesting copy signatures. If so is there a template I can use. Also I have sent them a letter today claiming missold PPI insurance on the grounds that they have been fined by FSA and I believe I was unaware I had been sold PPI. Thanks EGG AGREEMENT BLACK.pdf EGG AGREEMENT T'S & C'S.pdf
  3. The agreement is not contained in 1 page it has been supplied on 4 pages which overlap, ie 1 page in 4 peices and it does not have a signature box or my signature. All the terms seem ok but it does not give a credit limit but it states 'we will tell you from time to time the Approved Limit we have set and if different the individual limit which you have chosen for the Account'. Should I send them another letter telling them they have sent an incomplete agreement? I will send a PPI missold request tomorrow, although I can't remember if I applied online or via a salesperson as it was a long time ago in Feb 2000. Thanks for your help.
  4. Had a letter stating that signed copy agreement (Feb 200) enclosed along with terms and condition. On the enclosures I cannot see any signatures for either agreement or PPI. Is this agreement now deemed unenforceable and can I persue missold PPI claim. Thanks
  5. Have now received a letter stating copy of signed agreement dated Feb 2000 attached. They have sent a copy of the agreement and terms and conditions but it does not show any signature for the agreement or PPI insurance. What is my next course of action, is this now deemed as unenforceable and can I persue PPI claim?
  6. On 26th May I CCA'd Egg credit card services and sent the usual £1 fee. I want to reclaim PPI but I need a copy of the agreement as I am not sure when it started. I am now unemployed and have a meeting with CCCS on 17th July so have been paying £1 token payments at their suggestion. On 8th June I had a letter of acknowledgement and a request for further proof of identification which I duly sent them on 15th June. I have heard nothing since, please could someone advise what I should do next as obviously the !2+2 days has now expired.
  7. Need some advice please. My son has an interview with a CCCS counsellor on 17th July due to being unemployed and unable to meet minimum payments on his debts. So far as advised he has been paying £1 token payments per month to each of his creditors. Before becoming unemployed he realised on one of the loans he was paying PPI insurance which was missold because he was self employed at the time he took out the loan so he asked them to cancel and requested compensation which they have agreed. However before they refund his compensation they have sent him a new agreement to sign. Can you advise what he should do as he has already sent a hardship notice confirming his CCCS appointment, token payments etc so I guess it crossed with their letter re new loan agreement. Should he sign this new agreement at this moment in time?
  8. 12 days it up re CCA request to Egg (I need the agreement) to start a PPI claim and I still have not received any documents or response from Egg. I realize I need to send a follow up letter shortly but I don't want to antagonize them because I have only recently sent them a written notice of token payments (CCCS appointment with counsellor on 17th July) and the follow up template letter seems a tad too formal. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I would word the follow up letter please.
  9. Just thought I might be breaching BT rules if I don't take a calling plan. I only want line rental from BT
  10. Thankyou for your response. He has now cancelled the PPI but we cannot put in a missold claim yet because we don't have a copy of the agreement and we are not sure when he signed up and how. We think it is about 8 years ago and at that time he was not self employed so I don't think we can use this reason for misselling.
  11. Hi. My son is currently unemployed after being self employed and finding it difficult to pay his debts totalling approx £15k made up of 2 x credit cards, 2 personal loans & bank overdraft. He has spoken to CCCA and has a meeting with counsellor on 17th July. In the meantime on their advice he has cancelled direct debit payments, written letters and sent token £1 letters to all creditors except the bank and is awaiting replies. He had a meeting with the bank explained his situation and they said at this moment in time they were not worried as his overdraft was within the limit and just to keep some monies coming in until he secures a job. However unknown to them he has opened a basic bank account with another bank for his benefits to be paid into and a tax rebate to keep him going to pay his priority debts. In view of this there will be no monies being paid into the overdraft bank account. Should he just pay token monthly payments of £1 into this bank account as he is doing with all the others creditors. Also one of his credit card accounts is with Egg. He thinks he has had the account for about 8 years but cannot find the agreement so he sent a CCA request with a £1 postal order on 27th May but has not heard anything and the recorded delivery track number still shows as not being delivered. Should be just resend it again and claim from Royal Mail who say they cannot trace it for another week, or should we ring them to find out if they have received it or it was just not signed for. The reason we asked for this is because he recently discovered that he was paying £30 a month for PPI so he wants to try and claim it back, don't think he was self employed then but he believes he may have been told that he had to take the PPI to get the credit card. He spoke to them before sending the CCA request and they agreed to cancel the PPI from the 16th June. Now we are wondering if we have done the right thing and would it not have been better to claim under PPI for unemployment. I've read the t,s & c,s on their website and I don't believe he could have done being self employed but perhaps someone could enlighten me. Does anyone know how hard or easy it is to claim missold PPI charges from Egg. I was missold with A & L & Nationwide who both settled my claims fairly quickly with no quibble. Sorry for the long post, could someone tell me if I need to do anything further at this moment in time. Thanks
  12. I currently have a TV, Phone, Broadband package with Virgin media. I am moving to a different flat in a couple of weeks and there is no cable in the new area. I have spoken to Virgin who says that if I cancel the contract I will have to pay £120 disconnection fee because I would have broken the 18 month agreement, however they have said that I can transfer to their Virgin National Service (Broadband & evening calls via BT Line) at no charge. When viewing the flat I noticed that there was a BT phone line socket but have no idea which line rental the previous tennant used, therefore I will have to sign up with BT for line rental. I understand there could be a reconnection charge of approximately £120 which they will be able to tell me when I sign up but I really want to know if I will be in breach of BT,s contract when I request transfer by Virgin. As I understand it I will pay for Broadband and calls from Virgin and pay BT for the line rental
