  2. Thank you ask for your replies and suggestions... I think I'll get my wife to call hmrc then send a sar (or should it be just the sar?)
  3. Well thanks all, that's a little more reassuring
  4. Thanks for the reply! To answer your questions: No our surname is fairly uncommon, we moved around 2.5 years ago, and yes she has applied for a small loan earlier this year...
  5. Hi everyone, My wife received a letter on July 9th from Pastdue Credit Solutions, apparently acting on behalf of, and claiming a debt of £700 owed to HMRC for Single Tax Credits. The letter doesn't give any info about the debt, but just threatens further action if not paid, giving a payment date of yesterday. We have not claimed tax credit for around 7 or 8 years, and even then it was as a couple. The last time my wife claimed as a single person was 10, maybe 12 years ago. We have never been told about this debt, and even if she did have a debt a decade ago, we had many years of claiming where they would have taken monies owed back again I think? Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this company, or deal with this situation? Thanks
  6. I'm back!! The Judge adjourned the case for at least 14 days, as the copy of the letter with the cheque, went to the wrong address! He awarded me £30 travel costs, and £50 loss of earnings, but the other costs he said would need to be seen by Lloyds so they have a chance to defend them. If I receive the cheque, then I can not attend the next hear, and just let the court know, otherwise, I can go back, and they'll look for a judgement for me. If I go back, they will hear the other costs involved as well... Is it worth claiming for the extra costs? Thanks for all the help today!
  7. Thanks for all your help... I did just use your costs sheet, very helpfull! I'm about to leave in the next 20mins for court, wish me luck!!
  8. Do I request an adjournment even if Lloyds don't attend? Surely I win by default if that happens? Do I need to proove loss of earnings etc? How many hours can I claim for?
  9. No, it's probably too late now? I postponed before because of a personal matter, and it cost me £35 (or there abouts)
  10. I was sent a letter by SC&M dated the 7/3/7, advising that Lloyds had decided to settle my case, and that I'd receive a cheque for the full amount within 7 - 10 working days. On the 11th working day, I contacted SC&M to advise not received... They said to wait until friday (just gone) and if it still hadn't arrived, they would re-issue a cheque (which would again take 7 - 10 working days to arrive). I called them on Friday, and nobody got back to me. The court date is today, so I intend to attend (2pm), and just hope that if they turn up, I'm not too ill-prepared! Any advice at all?
  11. Yes they did! Many thanks for the link, that's very useful!
  12. I know, I'm lame! I'll contact the court... Many thx
  13. I have sent in my allocation questionaire to the court. Yesterday I received a copy of Lloyds' one, and the solicitors asked for a copy of mine... Unfortunately I can't find the photocopy I took of mine! What can I do?
