this worked for me: From experience : Do not call them. Do not speak to them or let them in. Change vehicle ownership details asap just incase. Setup an online banking payment and pay them little and often, that way each time they send you a statement you can write back saying this is not right, I dont owe that much, where did you get that figure ! HMRC will pass it to their debt collection firm, you guessed it - Drydensfairfax, and you write back to them saying who are you, i dont owe that figure to HMRC, prove it! They write back saying its on hold whilst you contact HMRC, you ignore letter and carry on paying little and often - HMRC happy to see payments and move on to someone else. sensible amounts though

just remembered - Drydens Fairfax or similar

Do not worry and do not lose any sleep over it, they are not worth it!

Am I missing something? Would it not be better to put in a defence, after acknowledgement of service 14 days in giving you another 14 days so 28 in total before filing a defence, saying you do not owe the money and then look for an extension later on whilst they prove otherwise - citing CCA, SAR etc. -
Hi, thanks for the reply. I can honestly say I dont know what its about but doing a bit of research I can only guess. I am certainly not aware of owing anyone that sort of money so I will have to wait and see what the full details are but in answer to your question if i didnt know how could I inform anyone?
-
CCA or SAR? also i dont have any ref no. just the name and address on the judgement form. many thanks
-
OK, well form has gone in with old address and I guess the judge will ask for the new one at the court date that has been set. Should I now ask the claimant for information regarding this, I know not to phone them but should I write something?
-
thanks for this, I have filled out the form but as this is an old address am I required by law to give them my new address? I have made arrangements to have the post forwarded now. many thanks

Hi, like many others on here I am in arrears with both - which do I pay? My mortgage company are starting legal action to reposess house and council sending in the bailiffs. Each action is racking up further costs which I cant pay so which would you pay first? I think the mortgage otherwise my family will be homeless but the council seem to think they come first over everything.

Council saw sense and removed some of the restrictions. I completed various parts of the work but in the meantime sold the property to get them off my back. Just in time I'd say - due to the credit crunch. I reckon the property has lost 25% of its value now (but that only matters if you need to sell) -
Ist credit sd for a cc debt of 4k+... help please!

Hi Hedman, just quickly scanned your thread and i dealt with the same matter for someone I know. Here is the thread - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/115700-statutory-demand-under-section.html Most of what you need has already be given by others but if I can be of any help let me know, I still have all the paperwork. Good luck
