  1. As you have had 169 people view your thread and no reply, this is what I would do. Take your car to a scrap yard or vosa registered dismantlers, get a certificate of destruction and the yellow piece off the v5 and send that to DVLA, don't worry about the sorn as you get 14 days to declare a sorn, If you don't get a certificate of destruction, don't worry as some scrap yards don't do them but you need to sent the yellow piece with the scrap yards address I would be more concerned about the new continuous insurance rules, is the car still insured, if not, don't delay your visit to the scrap yard.
  2. Hi Guys, Does anyone remember how many demands and needs questionnaires, they filled out when applying for a loan or credit. I received my 2nd refusal today and they included a copy of the demands and needs. My name, signature, date and the advisor's signature and date are different on there copy as to what is on my copy. the signatures are almost correct, but there is big differences to way the dates and my printed name, have been written. I could scan and crop, for you to see Have I caught them in their lies,,,, James
  3. I would, I would try and sell myself to the appeal and they may decide what a huge mistake they made by letting you go and it may sway the appeal in your favor
  4. Damn, I started to read this post, noticed the date and thought "over 3years and it's not sorted", Then seen your post honeybee and I screamed at the pc screen,,,,,, lol. I hate it when old posts are brought up by someone trying to bump up there posting numbers.
  5. Hi guys, A little update for you all, GOOD NEWS, I phoned the bank, no answer, so I went into the bank spoke to a few people, explained what had happened, was given the number for central recoveries, who authorised its return, went to my local branch and was given the money in full. Happy days Cheers James
  6. Hi Rebel, Thanks for your info, our oldest son is disabled, so I suppose I could go the route you suggest. The payment from tax credits was unexpected by us, without the payment we are no worse off, with the payment some outstanding debts can get paid off. To be honest I do not know what to say to the bank, Me "Hi, tax credits sent you £1100 to a closed, defaulted account and they want it back, can you return it to them" Bank "No". Now what do I do, speak to a manager and complain or go to the banks ombudsman and start some sort of claim. The worst thing is, I have not received any working tax credits from the tax credits/HRMC for at least 10 years (though the wife still receives child tax credits) and all of a sudden I am entitled to working tax credits for last year and they made the payment to an account without checking if it is still a valid account, so can I claim against the tax credits for not checking out of date details, it's not my fault but theirs,,,,,, cheers James
  7. Hi guys, I need some advice before I go to the bank on Monday. For the first time in a few years, we have qualified for Working Tax Credits the HMRC sent the back dated money (£1100) to an account that went into default and was closed by the bank, was closed about 2 years ago, and is still in default until they sort out the PPI/Loan Guard Claim. HMRC says they will not recall the payment from the bank and we need to wait for the bank to return the payment, HMRC have says today that it looks like the payment has been accepted, is there anyway to force the bank to return the payment to the HMRC, as the money is for my wife and kids not me. Thanks for reading. James
  8. Hi flumps, The carer's allowance as been award 31 may but I do not get a payment till 4 july, as they need to contact my local jobcentre and confirm my jsa payments. backdated to 2 may (start of claim) I will do as you have said I will contact jobcentre Monday and plead my moment of madness and hope they continue jsa if I lose some because of my mistake then so be it, it was my fault. And I will speak to a adviser and see how they wish to proceed with the jsa and carer's. Thanks for all of your help. James
  9. Hi flumps The wife works 12.5 hours, and yes we do receive the carer's premium just now but they reduce my IJSA accordingly, I will phone the carer's number on Monday and discuss this with them and I will probably sign off, claim full carer's allowance and the carer's premium. Does this mean I don't have to phone the jobcentre and confess myself as a Muppet for the confusion about my sign-on day Thanks for all of your help. I will come back Monday and let you all know how I got on. cheers James
  10. Hi flumps, I receive income based jsa and with the wife working part-time I receive £6.30 jsa, Yes I am still seeking work and I do care for our son, He is a 20 year old man with downs syndrome (he cannot tie is shoe laces, so yes a lot of caring) When I was working (night shift), I was the daytime carer and the wife was his night time carer, and when I get employment, I will more than likely lose the carer's allowance, unless I get a job paying less than £100. cheers James
  11. OK now I understand, so I should sign off from jsa and then claim the carer's premium along with the carer's allowance. I will phone the carer's number on Monday and confirm with them what what I should do. Thanks for all of your help. James
  12. Now i am confused, can you explain. I was under the guise that what ever I get from carer's, minus my jsa,,,, ie, jsa £6.30, carer's £55.55, so in total I would get £49.25 from carer's or do I sign off and claim carer's only and the carer's premium. From the carer's/directgov website,,,, How much do you get? The weekly rate is £55.55. This is reduced by the amount of certain other benefits, including State Pension, that you get. If you receive certain other benefits at £55.55 or more a week, you won't get Carer's Allowance as well.
  13. I stupidly forgot to sign-on last Wednesday (1st of June) I was at a review the week before and I mistakenly thought I was to sign next Wednesday, when I was updating my job search diary I realised, I was over due to sign on, I tried phoning them but they where closed. I will phone on Monday and plead my case of confusion about the review and signing-on, going by this on the internet, I will probably have to attend a interview and lose a weeks benefit. Does this make me the Muppet of the week. lol My wife lost her carer's allowance as she got a wage rise and went £3 odds over the £100 limit, as I am signing-on I decided to claim the carer's and take over the care of our disabled son, as I only get £6.30 per week CJSA, and I assume I will lose this amount from the carer's, so the question is :- Would I be better to sign-off and claim the £31 carer's premium on top of the carer's allowance.
  14. Hi Conniff cheers for your reply, looks like I stand corrected, I suppose it is true, you learn something new everyday. thanks James
  15. Hi Guys, I ordered things from a marine store in England (I am in Scotland) and going by the receipt, I have paid vat on the postage, is this correct The store lists the item, then postage, then vat and the total, if I add it up the item + postage, the vat adds up to the two prices, if I add up the item and vat then postage I get a different total. I am waiting for the delivery first, before I dispute this, as I need the item I bought, I know its only £1.66, but I feel as though I have been conned. I will post a copy of the receipt once the delivery arrives. cheers James
