  1. hI unclebulgaria67 Yes my standing order from HSBC to NW does include/reference the original Credit Card number. I set up this payment during my initial negotiation with NW. I thought by paying them something, I was at least showing a form of "goodwill."
  2. The last correspondence I have with them is from my current address. Many thanks for your speedy response unclebulgaria67
  3. Hello to all. Been a while since I was last on here. Always view your Twitter page. Keep up the great work you all do About 10 years ago I got into trouble paying my credit card bills. I managed to full and final settle and write-off on all bar one. Nat West would not agree I started paying them £5 pcm against a debt of some £6000. I remember writing to them at the time, saying that all I could afford was £5pcm and requesting for the debt to become interest free (although, I have no copy or acknowledgement of this.) This direct debit has now been occurring for all this time with absolutely no follow-up communique from NW whatsoever. Any suggestions on what I should do with this? There is nothing showing on my Noddle credit file. I am never likely to be in a position to pay the debt, although I am NOT in receipt of any benefits. 1: Should I continue with the £5pcm and hope the bear remains asleep ? 2: Should I just stop paying and see what happens? 3: Should I contact them (Urghh - the thought of it)? If they do respond, I can only ever pay the same £5pcm. But will I be opening a can of worms for myself? Many many thanks.
  4. So, just to be 100% clear on this. Does that mean a bailiff can enter onto my property to seize a vehicle? Putting the legal aspect of the vehicle to one side. If I refuse entry onto my driveway, can they still enter? Can I resist? Is there a difference between say, a council enforced debt and a payday debt?
  5. A friend of mine had a very similar occurrance about 3 years ago. He phoned the Council - not interested. He phone the Police - not interested. But the friendly booby did suggest that if he leaves a "Notice Of Intent" on the car, he could then dispose of it with no come back. (Not strictly true, but highly unlikely to pursue). This is the notice I typed up for him. Feel free to copy and paste into a word document. good luck. After 2 days, he had "travellers" knocking on his door. He told them if it wasn't claimed on day 15, it was theirs. They came with a trailer and towed it away on the 15th day. REMEMBER: if this happens to you - don't go back on your word. Let them have it. ======================================================================================= NOTICE OF INTENT to remove and dispose of vehicle "make, model, colour, reg number" I am hereby issuing a notice of intent (date). If the vehicle remains upon theprivate land of XXXX full address XXXX after 14 days, it will be removed and disposed of via a scrap car collection service and destroyed. For further details contact: mobile number
  6. So once again we have to be grateful for a job. Where's the protection for the individual? This policy affects over 500 people. This is after losing break times, losing bonuses and working an extra 2 hrs free a week. Whilst the office (upper management) continue with their benefits. Our company has exceeded all expectations in global profits for the previous two years, despite the recession, yet we (the workers) are having what little we've got chipped away. Where does it end? Or should I keep my big mouth shut and be grateful for a job? Trivial!
  7. We enter our factory thru the main doors, then clock-in at an electronic e-time machine. From there, we go to the locker rooms to change into PPE (personal protective equipment) Flash suits, boots, body warmers etc., We then attend our "place of work" in the factory. The company now want us to enter the building, get changed into PPE, then go to our "place of work" where a "clocking machine" will be installed. Whilst most of us are very punctual and attend work in good time, we feel as if PPE time is really work time. What the company are doing, is forcing us to change into PPE during OUR own time. As a further example, if I'm running a little late, I can still get to work on time, BUT still be late clocking in because this process can take up to 10 mins. The same is true of leaving work. We will be required to "clock out" at our place of work. THEN go and get changed out of our PPE, before leaving the building. Any thoughts, rules, laws, etc.,
  8. And I shall do the same mirror exercise (as per my earlier reply) and see what happens. Oooh - this is going to be interesting.
  9. I am not turning this thread into a discussion over politically correctness or otherwise. This was achieved by the OP within her statment. I am merely stating fact, and refuse to be frightened of doing so. Your initial reply contained logic, legality and a moral understanding of the original "problem". This - I have respect for. I do however, suggest that the OP's thread is based on something a little less desireable.
  10. I live in a community which is 92% white and 8% minority. Yet the largest (and one of the fewest) employers in the area employs 36% minority. No particular skill-set is required. DO I HAVE GROUNDS TO COMPLAIN ALSO. No I do not. Yet this is not proportionate to the local demographics. Am I to be ridiculed and tarnished as a bigot for even stating this?
  11. Great answer. very informative. Unfortunately, would Plod know this? Or even care?
  12. I heard a rumour that Tesco (or rather, their Parking Bullies) were actually considering this. If you didn't pay their previous demand for parking, you would be clamped. I never heard any more on this issue.
  13. The same thing happened to me last year. Apparently it's normal practice. The bank told me that when you use a debit card at any Bureau-de-Change in England, they treat it is if you are abroad and charge accordingly. Cop-out. Just another excuse to charge us for using our own money.
  14. I've never heard of this before. Can you give any further info on where this guidance comes from. Many thanks.
