Parking Ticket by Croydon Council In Private Parking Bay
mcz replied to mcz's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
Thanks everyone for the help! Attached is the pic of the car and the yellow line. Thanks again, mcz parking bay 1.pdf -
I understand how this issue frustrates people. However, sooner or later we need to look at the 'bigger picture'. Did anyone invite the British into countries two hundred years ago (and more) when the Empire wanted the raw materials and labour to fuel expansion? Those days are gone and either we learn to share or there will be real problems. What always makes me laugh is how few seem to remember the way the country was 'asset stripped' when a certain leader became hell bent on deregulation as the modus operandi......

..trying not to get fed up with how 'parking services' have nothing to do with 'service'!

Parking Ticket by Croydon Council In Private Parking Bay
mcz replied to mcz's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
Thanks for the replies... It is a single line which runs across the entrance to the bays... the line is neither even or straight (rather arbitary really). So you have to drive across the line to get into the bay and hence why my back wheel was over the line slightly. mcz -
I live in a cul de sac and my car was parked in a two birth residents parking bay (which is on private land). I received a parking ticket because the back wheel was slightly over the yellow line which is at the rear of the bay (I was unable to park any further in because the car in the bay in front was an estate vehicle and takes up a lot of the space...the bays are not side by side but in front of each other i.e. one car is parked in front so we have to move to allow the other car out). My car was not parked on the yellow line and in their rejection of my representation was that 'If you cannot fit the whole vehicle in the bay, then you must seek alternative parking'. Can part of a car be parked illegally especially as it was slightly over the line perpendicularly not in parallel? Any help on fighing this would be great! Regards, mcz

Hello good people at CAG, I've just found your forum after receiving a parking ticket from UKPC. I live on a private estate and all of the parking bays outside of my house were taken. I went to the neighbouring block (which is still part of the estate) and parked overnight. I received the notification of unauthorised parking on the pseudo official ticket. I noticed there was no warden number. I have been cited for my vehicle being parked in an unauthorised area and for not displaying a valid permit. Furthermore the address for the contravention is not accurate (stating it was at a further adjoining block). There is no placard at the site of the supposed contravention although there are two nearby at other bays. They do not state that a valid permit is needed. They state at the bottom of the ticket that they will be contacting the DVLA for my details. Where do I stand? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, McZ
