  4. Hi, sorry for posting again but after a week I'm no further forward. Has anyone claimed through FOS or have any experiences?
  5. I just wondered if anyone has claimed through the FOS? I have prepared my papers for court but will have to do multiple claims. I don't expect to get an immediate refund and am wondering if I am as well to hold off for another 3 weeks and take my complaint down that route? At least that way I have no up front costs and should get it all back at the one time. I just wondered if anyone else had claimed this way and how long it took?
  6. Thanks for this! By the looks of it the Bank of Scotland CAN then stick to their 8 week rule then? According to their deadline they have until about 6th June to respond to my claim, whereas I'm at the stage where I should be taking the papers to court, or do I wait...
  7. Is there a process that actually allows you to reclaim the charges through FOS? I haven't heard this one but would like to know more.
  8. You can use this one: HBOS Customer Relations PO Box 548 Leeds LS1 1WU Or if you have any response to your letters so far you could use the address quoted on that. Good luck!
  9. Looking around previous threads it seemed to be the consensus that I should stick to the deadlines outlined in the letters that I have sent to the Bank of Scotland rather than going by their '8 week rule'. I sent my LBA two weeks ago and now that I am due to file the papers at court I have received a letter stating that as they had informed me previously they would respond to me no later than 6th June 2007. I fully intended taking the papers to court or I wouldn't have sent the LBA, I have already had a successful claim from the Halifax which I had to take the papers to court for. I just want to confirm that I should stick to our deadlines and not theirs? Maybe it would be an idea to add this to the FAQ section? Any advice gratefully received!
  10. The 8 week rule is new to me! I've also received a similar letter in response to the preliminary letter - not sure whether to give them the 8 weeks or go ahead with the LBA?
  11. My fiance had a card with The Associates a few years ago but doesn't have the details anymore. We're going to have a go at reclaiming the charges anyway as he assures me there will be many! Reading through the threads they do seem to be a bit of a nightmare of an organisation to claim from! Has anyone else claimed without having the account or card number for reference? And will they do it on the basis of address details? Any advice will be much appreciated!!
  12. Feel good? It's fan-feckin-tastic!! you've nothing to worry about, get your claim in and this time next month you'll be 3 grand richer! :o do it, do it, do it!!
  13. Thank you - just in time for the weekend as well!!
  14. slice of it? I'm going for the lot! We've just bought a house so he can kiss goodbye to his high-def tv for now, I've got it spent! starting his paperwork for court this week, need to put about 5 claims in cos we can only claim up to £750 up here, I don't mind so much now I know we'll get it in the end!
  15. 24 days from the day of submittal - but only because I chased them up they had until 8th august to respond to my claim but I didn't fancy waiting that long so I called yesterday 'to check that they'd received my claim' they said that I'd receive a letter in the next couple of days but wouldn't say how it was looking, checked on the off chance today and it was in! stick in there, such a good feeling when the cash is there! woohoo!!!
